Walter Allee
His parents are unknown. A WikiTree contributor suggests a William and Sarah Allee of New Rochelle, descended from the Huguenot Jean Allé; nothing supports it yet.
Walter Allee
His birth and death: the 1850 and 1860 census entries and the East Lenox gravestone.
Christine Anderson
Her birth, Swedish parish, emigration and death: start with the 1900 census for Otoe County, Nebraska.
Humphrey Atherton
His origin and birth. Anderson's Great Migration sketch has not been read here.
Elizabeth Atherton
Her first name, Elizabeth or Catharine. Anderson's Great Migration sketch of Humphrey Atherton, and his probate papers (Suffolk County), would settle it.
Elizabeth Atherton
Whether she is the Elizabeth baptized at Winwick in 1628.
Thomas Barnes
The History of Hingham says he was "said to have been a s. of Roland," and gives no record for it (2:23).
Elizabeth Barnes
Her father's will of 29 Apr 1671 "gives the names of w. and ch."; it has not been read here. Reading it for the married daughter "Elizabeth Murfett" that Barclay reports would firm up the link.
Elizabeth Barnes
Is 8 Dec 1644 her birth or her baptism? The colonial tree reads the Hingham history's date as a baptism at Hingham; the page follows the reading as a birth date. Her elder brothers, the twins Thomas and John, are given there as baptized (21 May 1643).
Hannah Barnes
A record naming her as a Barnes.
Robert Bartlett
His English origin. Read Hunt (TAG 35:214) and Prindle (TAG 55:164-66) on Puddletown.
Robert Bartlett
The 1649 Church-to-Bartlett deed, to check Mollie's "red ox called Mouse."
Rebecca Bartlett
Mayflower Families Through Five Generations, vol. 18 (Richard Warren), should set out the evidence that she was a daughter of Robert Bartlett and Mary Warren.
Sarah Bartlett
Her birth date is not in the research, and no record of her death has been found; she was dead by 14 June 1680, when her husband married again.
Sarah Bassett
Her birth; a probate for John Nickerson (d. before 1722) or John Rogers (d. 1738/9) naming the children would make her daughter Sarah's parentage firm.
James Bate
The Great Migration sketch of James Bate has not been read.
James Bate
His mother: the colonial tree marks Mary Martin(?) as unproven, since Watkins queries her surname; the page has the link as compiled, probable. The doubt Watkins raises is about her surname.
Mary Bate
Her baptism: the colonial tree gives 21 Nov 1619 at Lydd (Watkins); the page keeps c. 1618, from her ages in 1635 and at death. In the same pedigree Watkins gives the identical baptism date, 21 Nov 1619, to a Mary daughter of Thomas Bate (b. 1596), so one of the two entries may be misplaced.
William Oliver Belmondo
His parents' full names and his mother's maiden name.

Peter Bennett
His parents, Dea. John Bennett and Deborah Grover, are named only; the research gives no dates for them, so they have no files.
Joseph Bennett
His Plymouth probate should list his children and settle whether Jemima (Bennett) Jackson was a daughter.
Joseph Bennett
His birth record has not been found.
Lucy Bennett
See the marriage entry itself (MD 30:8).
Jemima Bennett
Was she a daughter of Lt. Joseph Bennett Jr.? His probate should list his children.
Thankful Bennett
Her maiden name: Sproat rests on Weston's catalogue and on Brennan's Bosworth database (citing Genealogies of Mayflower Families 1:665), neither verified against a record.
Thankful Bennett
Her birth, parents and death.
Mary Betts
Her birth, and her mother.
Patience Bigg
Her death, which is unknown. Pane-Joyce gives 18 Mar 1637 at Dorchester, but her brothers' wills name her as living in 1638 and about 1641.
Patience Bigg
Baptized 1588, but aged 40 in 1635. Which is right?
Patience Bigg
Her mother: the colonial tree marks Rachel (Martin) Bigg as her mother on documentary evidence (her brothers' wills, which name "my mother" Rachel Bigg and "my sister" Patience Foster). The page keeps the link as compiled, probable.
Thomas Bliss
His wife and his English origin are not in the research.
Thomas Bliss
The 1648 Plymouth Colony petition said (WikiTree, unsourced) to show Nicholas Ide claiming a child's share of his estate, or his estate papers, would settle whether Nicholas's wife was his daughter.
Martha Boreman
Is the gravestone's "Jan. 22, 1720" 1719/20 or 1720/21?
Margaret Boreman
Her maiden name.
Thomas Bowne
His wife's name.
Thomas Bowne
The 1619 will of Anthony Bowne and the 1634 administration of Alice (Lichfield), and Thomas's own will of 1675.
John Bowne
Whether his birth in the journal is March or May 1627 (the "3rd month").
Abel Brace
His terms in the Connecticut Assembly for Hartland, and his militia commission, need the Connecticut records (Roll of State Officers, 1881; Connecticut Men in the Revolution).
Persis Brandegee
Her parents and dates are not known. Whether she belonged to the Brandegees of Berlin and Middletown, Connecticut (the family of Senator Frank B. Brandegee), is open until her parents are found.
Sarah Ann Bridges
Her parents. The Ancestry tree names William Henry Bridges and Elizabeth (Betsy) Wright of North Carolina, with nothing attached; she was born in Kentucky about 1804.
Sarah Ann Bridges
When and where she died; the source for the master tree's 1873. A photograph posted as Hickman Bruner and Sarah Bridges shows a woman in a dress of the 1890s (picture): either she lived into the 1890s or it is someone else.
William Briscoe
His baptism day: the research, the colonial tree and the text of NEHGR 178 (p. 24) give 24 June 1591, but the same article's transcript of the Sundridge register reads "1591 Williã, ye sonn of Guy Briscow, June 29" (p. 12), and its list of Guy's children has 29 June. The page keeps 24 June until the register is checked.
Jane Briscoe
Her maiden name and baptism. NEHGR 178 suggests she was born about 1597 if Thomas was her eldest child.
Rebecca Briscoe
Her maiden name, and her death. NEHGR 178 notes that the same children's births are entered as children of "John and Rebecca Brisco" in the John Pipon Bible at the Old Colony Historical Society, Taunton (Taunton VR 1:61).
Hannah Brown
Her parents. Her Cape Cod birth would fit a family that knew the Holdershaws of Eastham; the Gorham Browns had land from a George Brown of Eastham. No Hannah Brown of the right age is in the Harwich or the printed Eastham records. Cumberland County probate of Benjamin Brown of Gorham, Gorham or Pownal town records naming "Hannah Ellingwood," or the source of FamilySearch's "Sept 1809, Pownal" marriage would settle it. The Bethel family is in the town records (record).
Hannah Brown
Her death.
Henrietta Browne
Whose daughter was she? The tree makes her the daughter of Edward Browne and Ella Persis Chapin, but attaches no record for it, and what was found points the other way. The Chapin Book (1924), compiled while Ella was living, gives her marriage to Edward Browne in 1875 and then "Children: BROWNE. No issue" (source). Kith and Kin (1922), by Ella's first cousin, who thanks her for details, lists no child for her (source). The Chicago Blue Books of 1899 and 1904 list "Mr. & Mrs. Edward Browne" and Ella's father at their address, with no daughter (source). She could have been adopted or a ward, or the tree may have joined her to the wrong Brownes. Her 1964 death certificate, her marriage to Ralph Hatten, the 1900 census of the Browne household and her Social Security application would settle it. Until then, nothing on the Browne and Chapin side is counted as Patricia's on the Notable connections page. (research/hatten/Browne_Chapin_Cumins.md)
Adam Peter Bruner
A source for any of this: his dates, his marriage, his son Hickman, his service.
Henry Hickman Bruner
Where did he die? Sullivan Gardens, Tennessee (the Bruner research file), or Arkansas (the 1886 sketch)? Neither has a source for 1874.
Henry Hickman Bruner
His parents: no source is given for Adam Peter Bruner and Elizabeth Rice.
Henry Hickman Bruner
Who was the older man in the 1830 Daviess County household?
Henry Hickman Bruner
A photograph posted as Hickman Bruner and Sarah Bridges (Arkansas GenWeb, contributed by Mike Freels) shows an elderly couple, the woman in a dress of the 1890s (picture). If it is them, he lived well past 1874; if not, who are they?
Eli Woodruff Bruner
His years in Somerset Lodge No. 206 (Senior Warden in 1865): the Grand Lodge of Missouri returns, 1861-1878, would show when he joined and when he left.
Eli Woodruff Bruner
His rank in the 4th Provisional regiment (Missouri State Archives service cards).
Eli Woodruff Bruner
Why Colorado, and whether the family was with him there.
Mariah Emma Bruner
The Dunlap chronology. She married John Dunlap at Delta in 1893 as "Mrs. Emma Davis," and was a widow by 1910, while John L. Davis lived until 1914 (per FamilySearch): how her marriage to Davis ended (a divorce?), and when and where John Dunlap died, are not known. His middle initial on the certificate is unclear.
Mariah Emma Bruner
The Clifford marriage record, c. 1872-73 (Arkansas or Iowa).
Mariah Emma Bruner
The 1900 census, under any of her four surnames.
Mariah Emma Bruner
Her son Eli's death certificate gives her birthplace as Missouri; every census says Indiana.
Eli Hickman Bruner
The Gothic page and line number (pp. 247 or 248), from the image.
Eli Hickman Bruner
His commission as a deputy marshal, and a record of his part in the Christie fight (the court's papers at Fort Smith; the photograph's own caption).
Eli Hickman Bruner
The newspaper story of "Bruner's Graveyard," seen but not yet cited: a deputy who cleaned up Indian Territory and buried the outlaws he brought to justice in a graveyard of his own. To find again and add to the archive, with its paper and date.
Eli Hickman Bruner
Where his portrait came from on FamilySearch.
Georgia Ann Bruner
Born 1869 or about 1863? The 1870 and 1880 censuses disagree.
Isaac Buck
His birth (about 1620, by Byron Buck's title) and English origin.
Mehitable Buck
Her birth and death have not been found.
Banfield Capron
Who was Elizabeth (Callender? Blackington?) Capron? The 1735 Attleborough death record and 17th-century Swansea and Barrington records may settle it.
Banfield Capron
Which wife was the mother of his daughter Mary (b. about 1696)?
Banfield Capron
Read his will (Bristol Probate 13:258-261).
Mary Capron
Who was her mother? Banfield Capron's wives are given as a daughter of Callender (the 1817 family account, no first name), Elizabeth Callender (Mollie Pfeiffer and modern trees), and Elizabeth Blackington (Holden, as his second wife). Which of them was living about 1696 is not known. Abiel Brown's "fifty-two years" with the first wife points to one long first marriage ending in 1735, which would make the first wife her mother, whatever her name.
Mary Capron
Read Banfield Capron's will (Bristol Probate 13:258-261).
Hannah Carter
Her death. Savage and Kith and Kin give 10 Aug 1691, which is the date of her mother-in-law Ann (Long) Converse's death, and the Woburn deaths have no entry for her that year. WikiTree has 22 Nov 1708.
Jonathan Chapin
Who were his parents? The Chapin Book gives the marriage of Jonathan Chapin and Elizabeth Burt (20 Apr 1710) and the birth of their son Jonathan (8 July 1711) twice: under Japhet Chapin's son Jonathan of Springfield (entry 1-1-10), whose son of that birth "d. Nov. 12, 1768, age 58, Old Chicopee Cem." (entry 1-1-10-1), and again under a Jonathan, son of David and Lydia (Crump) Chapin, b. 1665 (entry 1-4-6), whom G. W. Chapin chose for this man "by a process of elimination ... our best guess, but absolute proof is impossible." Both entries cannot be right. WikiTree keeps the father from David's line and drops Elizabeth Burt. Both parents are left as names here, at possible; the research report rated this step probable (Link G) without the duplicate entry. The Palmer, Brimfield and Springfield records and the Land Bank papers of 1740 are the places to look.
Jonathan Chapin
The Chapin Book adds an older generation through David Chapin (Link H, possible). The family descends from Deacon Samuel Chapin in any case, through Abigail Munn.
Jonathan Chapin
Temple gives "Jonathan, Jun., b. Oct. 12, 1738, m. Bethna Parsons, 1771." The Chapin Book gives that marriage (2 May 1771, "Bertha Parsons, widow") to his father, a year after Anna (Hitchcock) Chapin's death, and marries this Jonathan to Abigail Munn, whose son Jotham was born in 1764. Temple has probably attached the father's second marriage to the son.
Jonathan Chapin
The DAR line says he was born at Mendon; The Chapin Book says Palmer, where his parents lived.
Jonathan Chapin
His Revolutionary service as a lieutenant needs a record (Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors).
Jotham Chapin
WikiTree gives him one child only, "Anna Chapin," b. 3 May 1790 at Plainfield, Otsego County, a date that cannot stand beside Loring's birth on 26 Feb 1790. The Chapin Book and the DAR application agree on Loring; one of the two children is misattached.
Jotham Chapin
The Monson town records would confirm his birth of 7 Dec 1764.
Loring Chapin
Where was he born? Probably at Monson, before the move to Winfield, but no record says.
Loring Chapin
His household in the 1850 census at Silver Creek, or his probate (Chautauqua County, 1864), would show Marvin as his son from a record rather than the family genealogies.
Richard Cheever
His baptism at Canterbury, about 1660, and his father's name (James? Peter? John?).
Richard Cheever
The full texts of Bartholomew Cheever's will (Suffolk no. 2108, 1693) and Richard's administration (no. 3189, 1709). Research: research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Woodbury_Rand.md.
Isaac Chittenden
Was he killed in the raid on Scituate of 20 May 1676, as Deane says, or alive to sit on the coroner's jury of 29 July 1676? Read the jury's original record and Deane's "authentic records."
Isaac Chittenden
The ship of 1635: the London list gives none; the Increase is the family history's.
Stephen Chittenden
His death and burial have not been found.
Sarah Chittenden
Her death and burial have not been found (Scituate or Eastham).
Sarah Chittenden
Her mother is taken to be Stephen's wife Mehitable Buck, married 1679; no record names Sarah's mother.
Eleazer Churchill
His death date. The page keeps the master tree's 8 Mar 1716, which matches the Plymouth VR death list. The Holbrook-Low colonial tree gives 25 Mar 1716 from his Burial Hill stone, "died March ye 25th 1716 in ye 64th year of his age" (Kingman no. 36). One of the two is probably a misreading or a slip; the VR page image and the stone would settle it.
Eleazer Churchill
His eleventh child: "Jonathan" in the printed Plymouth VR, "John, b. Sept. 12, 1698" in The Churchill Family in America, which the colonial tree follows.
Mary Churchill
Was she Mary Bryant (b. 1654)? No will or deed names her.
John Churchill
His birth and death dates are compiled; look for his gravestone and probate.
John Churchill
The grand-juror entry (Records of the Town of Plymouth 2:43-44): the colonial tree dates it March 1704/5, but vol. 2 begins after May 1705 and the entry stands among those of 1710; the year is unclear in the archive.org text (probably 1710/11). Check the page image.
John Churchill
The second marriage (4 Mar 1715) is compiled here; the colonial tree treats it as documented, quoting "Sgt. John CHURCHILL married the widow Hanna BARTLET." Find the record (probably the Plymouth vital records) and cite it.
Mary Churchill
A record naming Eleazer Churchill as her father (his probate or a deed).
Mary Churchill
The Holbrook-Low colonial tree marks both her parents as documented, from the Plymouth VR's "The children of Eleazer Churchell & Mary his wife." The page keeps them compiled and probable: that entry gives no dates, so tying its Mary to Edward Stephens's wife rests on her age at death and on the Churchill genealogy.
John Churchill
His birth and origin are unknown. Mollie's "Joseph Churchill of London, merchant" as his father, and a Norman "de Courcil" descent, have no evidence; she noted herself that it "is not, however authentic."
John Churchill
The colonial tree treats the marriage date, 18 Dec 1644, as documented; the page has it from The Churchill Family in America (compiled). It was not found among the Plymouth marriages printed in PCR 8 (searched in the archive.org full text).
Jean Clark
Her parents, and her baptism (about 1770, Roxburghshire).
Catherine Clawson
Her death year: the stone (1831) or Plume (1834). Gilmore's list of her children, as far as the archive.org text can be read, includes "Marietta b. 6 Aug 1831" beside "Maryette b. ca 1828" from the census; a birth in August 1831 would not fit a death in July 1831.
Josiah Clawson
His wife, his birth and his death.
Josiah Clawson
The 1827 deed itself (Greene County land records), which should list all his heirs.
Josiah Clawson
The Claverack baptism of 1807, which should name Catherine's parents.
Orlando H. Clifford
When did he die? A family note has it that he died about two years before his grandson Orlando was born, so about 1871; not yet sourced. Nebraska death or probate records.
Orlando H. Clifford
Is the 1860 hotel keeper of 48 the trader of 55 in 1850? The ages don't agree.
Delila Clifford
Her maiden name, and whether she died or the marriage ended before 1860.
Delila Clifford
Was she the mother of all the 1850 children? Henry C. (15) was born when she was about 23.
Henry Clay Clifford
The rest of the 1875 letter and its signature (Yale, archives.yale.edu, repository 12, resource 4876), and who the brother with him was.
John Marshall Clifford
The marriage record, c. 1872-73, Arkansas or Iowa.
John Marshall Clifford
His death and burial: the record behind FamilySearch's 1879, Iowa.
Jessie Lorene Clifford
Her death record (29 Aug 1948, Yuba County): the colonial tree marks the death documented; the page keeps compiled until the record is attached.
Jessie Lorene Clifford
Did she and Richard divorce, and did she know of his second family? King County divorce records, 1915-1923; the license application for her 1928 marriage, which may say whether she was widowed or divorced.
James Cock
His origin, and his age.
Sarah Cock
Her maiden name (Clarke?).
Joseph Cole
His probate (Barnstable, 1795): a will or division naming "Sarah Shaw" or "Holdershaw" would prove that his daughter Sarah was Hope Holdershaw's mother. Research: research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Cape_Cod.md.
Sarah Cole
Her father's probate (Barnstable, 1795), or any Eastham record naming Sarah Holdershaw or Shaw as his daughter, would prove the identification.
George Coles
Which of the several Woottons in Somerset?
Alice Coles
Her parents and birth are unknown. Her brother George was born at Wootton, Somerset, about 1559, so the Coles family was probably West Country in origin.
Mary Coley
Her baptism date, and her parents: Jacobus, Families of Old Fairfield I:155, should settle both.
William Collier
His birth, his wife, and the date and place of his death (before 29 Oct 1671).
Thomas Collins
Who was his wife?
Thomas Collins
Who were his parents? Nothing is known before 1745.
Thomas Collins
When and where did he die? Did he stay on the Flat River after about 1767?
John Collins
One John or two? A John Collins held land on the Rocky Branch of the Flat River by 1751, and the 1771 Botetourt John had three other tithes (males over 16), both hard to fit a man born about 1736. There may have been an elder John (possibly the John Collins among the men the Orange County, Virginia, court called Indians in January 1742/43) as well as Thomas's son John. This file follows the master tree, which treats them as one man.
John Collins
Was his wife a daughter of Moses Riddle?
Meredith Collins
His father: John or Samuel? The deciding record would be a Montgomery County tithable list of the late 1770s showing a teenage Meredith in someone's household.
Meredith Collins
His mother: possibly a daughter of Moses Riddle born about 1740, if she married John [?].
Meredith Collins
His first wife's name.
Meredith Collins
A death, will or estate record in Pike County, c. 1841.
Meredith Collins
Eula Conley's DAR application (562294) and its 25 supporting documents.
Bradley Collins
Who was his mother?
Bradley Collins
Did he marry Sarah Reid? Was she a daughter of James Reed?
Bradley Collins
When and where did he die?
Edward Collins
Is the Patrick County Edward this Ned? Tests: Patrick marriage records, the 1860 census, the deed behind his farm.
Edward Collins
Who were his parents? The story is disputed even within itself.
Hiram Collins
Where was he after 1840? The earlier work on the several Hirams is not in the research files.
Jesse Collins
Where and when did he die? The reasoning so far (Oct 2026): he probably died in Appanoose County, Iowa, about 1845-1847, after the family got there. In 1850 his widow Mary was farming there with Reuben, 16, the eldest son at home; a widow and a boy of about 13 would hardly have started a farm in a new place alone, though they had family nearby. The 1847 year is from FamilySearch, source unknown. A record of him there about 1845 is remembered; its citation still needs finding.
Jesse Collins
His grave, and a death record, in Appanoose County.
Jesse Collins
The 1830 Morgan County page: the head's age bracket and the young girls.
Jesse Collins
Is the 1840 St. Ferdinand Township J. Collins household his?
Mary Elizabeth Collins
A record that names her parents: the 1850 Appanoose County marriage record, if it survives, might.
Mary Elizabeth Collins
Her death record and grave in Siloam Springs.
Mary Elizabeth Collins
The Molata addendum says she was "marked M" in 1850; the research's reading of the 1850 Daviess County entry doesn't give her color. Check the image.
Matilda Collins
Her husband, Mr. Davis, and when they married; the certificate calls her "married," not widowed.
Reuben Collins
Where did he go after his mother's death about 1852?
Abigail Compton
Her father's origin. Smallhope Bigg's will of 1638 names a "John Compton" among his kinsfolk "now resident in New England," and John Bigg's will a John Compton who "went from Cranbrook" (Waters, Gleanings 1:21-23); Waters's editor took him to be the Roxbury settler. If he was Abigail's father, the Briscoes were connected to the Biggs before Rebecca Briscoe married into the Foster family. Not yet checked.
Edward Converse
His English origin. The Navestock baptism and parentage on WikiTree have not been checked here.
Josiah Converse
His parents: probably Capt. Josiah and Hannah (Sawyer) Converse. Kith and Kin (no. 71), WikiTree, the DAR line's "(1710-75)" and Ella Browne's own note of 1903, "Lieut. Josiah Converse, son of Capt. Josiah," make him the Josiah born at Woburn in 1710. Against that, the Richardson Memorial (1876) calls Eleanor's husband "son of John Convers, of Woburn" and says "She was his second wife," and A. C. Vinton's Converse genealogy in the Woburn records gives him a first wife Hannah and a daughter Sarah, born November 1729, and makes Capt. Josiah's son the "Mr. Josiah" who died at Woburn in June 1748; Kith and Kin prints this too (no. 57), so it gives Eleanor two husbands. But Capt. Josiah himself moved to Leicester about 1727 with his wife Hannah, and their daughter Sarah was born there on 5 Nov 1729: the Leicester Josiah with a wife Hannah and a daughter Sarah was the father, not an earlier marriage of the son. His children's names agree: his Dorothy, Jesse and Jude repeat three of Capt. Josiah and Hannah's children, and Jesse and Jude are rare. The 1748 death record names no parents. The Leicester town records would settle it.
Israel Converse
His death: 28 Mar 1806 (Kith and Kin, WikiTree) or 28 May 1806 (the Ancestry tree)? His gravestone at Randolph would settle it.
Israel Converse
When did the family move from Stafford to Randolph, and where were the children born before Hannah (1785)? The records have not been seen.
Elizabeth Cooper
Was she the Elizabeth born 8 Aug 1662 to Thomas Cooper Jr.?
Leonard Cummings
Who were his parents? Kith and Kin (1922) makes him the fourth son of Samuel Cummings of Groton and Elizabeth Shedd, and on that rests the family's descent from John Cummings of Chelmsford, John Cummings of Boxford and Dunstable, and Isaac Cummings of Ipswich and Topsfield (the research report's Link L, rated probable). But the Cummings Memorial, the book Kith and Kin names as its source, gives Samuel only three children, Samuel (1709), Jerahmeel (1711) and James (1713), and prints Leonard separately, as "Leonard Cummins, of Litchfield, N. H.," unplaced. The name Jerahmeel among both families' children is a clue, not proof; nor is his tie to the estate of Eleazer Cummings (1739). Until a record names his father, Samuel and Elizabeth stay names here at possible, and the generations above them are not brought in. The Litchfield and Londonderry deeds, the 1739 administration of Eleazer Cummings's estate, and Leonard's own probate of 1758 (New Hampshire) are the places to look.
Jerahmeel Cummings
His death: Windsor, Vermont (Kith and Kin; the DAR line), or Champion, New York, on 20 July 1817 (WikiTree)?
Jerahmeel Cummings
His service record (Vermont Records, pp. 351 and 359, as cited by Kith and Kin) has not been seen.
John Lewis Davis
When and where did he die? Did he and Emma divorce?
Elizabeth Jane Davis
Her husband's given name. The family believes he was Ira Myers; a Seattle Times clipping of 1905 has a Capt. Ira Meyers taking charge of the steamer Neptune in Cook Inlet, Alaska (picture). Their marriage record, or her sons' birth or death records, would name him.
Mary Davis
Her parents.
Hannah Day
Her birth and death, and the date of her marriage.
Walter Dean
Was his wife a Strong, and was she Benjamin's mother?
Walter Dean
His birth: Rev. Samuel Deane's "between 1615 and 1620," or Find a Grave's unsourced christening at Chard on 13 May 1612?
Benjamin Dean
Who was his mother? His father Walter's wife was Eleanor in 1693, and no other wife is known, but no record shows she was Benjamin's mother.
Benjamin Dean
Bristol County probate, 1725: does his will name his daughter Damaris White?
Eleanor Dean
Was she a Strong, Elder John Strong's sister?
Eleanor Dean
Was she Walter's wife from the start, and so the mother of his son Benjamin? Only the deed of 1693 names her.
Peter J. Deyoe
His mother. His father married Maria Cole on 3 Mar 1788, four months after the birth date Hasbrouck gives him; whether Maria was his mother, or one of the dates is wrong, is not known.
Peter J. Deyoe
His probate (Saratoga, 1857), which should name his daughter Jane Adams. Research: research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Wives_Families.md.
Jane Marian Deyoe
Her birth year: 1803 (gravestone) or 1808/9 (the genealogy and the censuses).
Jane Marian Deyoe
Her mother's parents (see Elizabeth Esmond).
Mercy Dickinson
Her marriage to Thomas Underhill (not in the Purchase marriages of 1742-1785).
Mercy Dickinson
Her birth and her parents' wedding are hard to fit together: the Underhill Genealogy has the wedding on "March 5, 1733" and her birth on the 20th of the 6th month (August) 1733. One of the dates may be misread; the Purchase or Shrewsbury Friends' records would show.
Zebulon Dickinson
His parents, birth and death, and where he lived between Shrewsbury and North Castle.

John Dwyer
His death and burial, after 1885, in Renville County.
John Dwyer
His origin in Ireland. The Catholic baptisms of his children (Canajoharie 1848, Moriah or Port Henry about 1853-55, Au Sable Forks or Keeseville 1856-62, Cornelius included) would name sponsors, the best route to a county.
Cornelius Sylvester Dwyer
His birthplace: Black Brook (likely), Troy, or the "Jackson Hill" of his funeral record. The death certificate itself may say more.
Cornelius Sylvester Dwyer
The 1882 marriage record (Renville County) and the 1900 census, not found under Dwyer, Dwire or Dyer.
Edwin Cornelius Dwyer
His war service (unit, dates), and where he was in 1930: the "Elizabeth C., 32" in his parents' 1930 household may be Edwin written in error.
Edwin Cornelius Dwyer
When the company began and how: his obituary has him starting it in 1935, but the 1940 census calls him a mechanic and his 1942 draft card names Brintnall's as his employer. Washington corporation records and the Seattle directories of 1936-1965 would show it.
Edwin Cornelius Dwyer
The family's house: 5605 6th Ave. S.W. as the 1942 card was read, or N.W. as the directories of 1966-1985 have it (St. Alphonsus, the funeral parish, is in Ballard, in the northwest). Re-read the card.
Edwin Cornelius Dwyer
The obituary's "retired in 1944," which the 1950 census contradicts.

Jerome Edwin Dwyer
How the company's ownership passed after 1969 (his mother is its "retired owner" in 2003), and the year he handed it to Eric; Washington corporation records would say.

Elijah Ellingwood
His death: September 1872 (gravestone) or late 1871 (Finley's biography).

Ralph Ellinwood
His English origins. Nothing connects him to any English family (Banks; Ellinwood 1963, p. 9 (record); the College of Arms search of 1953, record). Online trees, the Ancestry tree among them, give him a father Timothy Ellwood of Great Gransden, Huntingdonshire, and a line behind that; nothing supports it, and it is not used here.

Jennie L. Elliott
Her birth: 25 Oct 1857 at Saratoga Springs by her death certificate, and at Wilton, Saratoga County, on WikiTree; records for her parents (her father's name is left blank on the certificate).
John Ellis
His parents and origin are unknown. Brownson and McLean (NEHGR 119, 1965) is the authority to read.
John Ellis
Why is he called "John Ellis, Junir" in the 1677 administration? The 1658 Sandwich list has both a John Ellis Sr. and Jr.
John Ellis
His inventory (23 May 1677) should be in Plymouth Colony Wills vol. 3; not seen.
John Ellis
The Freeman-Ellis anecdotes file dates the warrant for witnesses "early 1645"; the printed record (PCR 2:76-77) puts it at the General Court of 20 Aug 1644, and the page follows the record.
Bennet Ellis
Born 27 Feb 1647/8 or 1648/9?
Mordecai Ellis
His death: 1706/7, 1709/10 or 1715?
Mercy Ellis

Joel Ellis
His death date (21 June 1763) is compiled; no record of it has been seen.
Matthias Ellis
Where was he born? His birth date is from Brownson and McLean via Pane-Joyce; no record of it has been seen. The colonial tree marks the date as documented; the page keeps it compiled until the record is found.
Matthias Ellis
Is the 1777 Rhode Island private this Matthias? He would have been 57.
George Ellis
When and where did he die? A Plymouth County probate for him might name his children and settle who Ziba and Isaac Ellis were.
George Ellis
Is he the second "George Ellis" among the grantors of the 1805 quitclaim?
Nancy Ellis
Born 18 Oct 1781 (the family Bible, via Mollie) or 21 Oct (her age at death)? The Bible itself, or Davis p. 252, may settle it. The same list gives the birth dates of all her brothers and sisters (Mollie's typescript, scan 84).
Isaac Ellis
Was Isaac a child of George and Phebe, born after March 1785?
Ziba Ellis
Was Ziba a child of George and Phebe, born after March 1785? A probate for George Ellis might settle it.
Ziba Ellis
The first name is uncertain in the reading ("Zeba [?]").
Thomas Emerson
When did he die? The Ipswich Emersons dates his inventory 3 May 1666; the printed probate abstract has "9: 3 m: 1666," 9 May, which the colonial tree follows. The page keeps "before 3 May 1666" until the original is checked.

Thomas Fairchild
His marriage and death. The Norwalk church and Barbour records for the children's baptisms should give their mother's name.
Jonathan Fairchild
Is he the Jonathan born at Norwalk in 1744? The Bridgewater stone's exact inscription (Find a Grave memorial 19838480, with a photograph) and the 1815 Greene County probate (bond 28 Feb, inventory 20 Apr, letters to Henry; any petition naming widow and heirs) would settle or sink it, and would prove Richard and John his sons. The Revolutionary pension files of the Norwalk Jonathan's brothers John (S10641) and Stephen (W1403) may mention him.
Jonathan Fairchild
Where he is buried: the "J. F." fieldstone at East Jewett, or Bridgewater.

John Flynn
His death: 8 March 1863 in the Ancestry tree, with no record seen. The family, or part of it, went to the United States after 1861.
James Murray Flynn
His regiment and service: the 1865 enlistment register image, the Indian Wars pension index card (FamilySearch 1:1:KDRY-35W) and the pension file (National Archives, RG 15) would give them.

Elizabeth Fones
Any children by William Hallett (the Cock genealogy gives none for her).
Hopestill Foster
TAG 80:26 and the Great Migration sketch, on his baptism and the Biddenden Fosters.
Hopestill Foster
His mother: the colonial tree marks Mary Bate as his mother on documentary evidence. No record seen names his mother (Roberts calls him "son of Capt. Hopestill and Mary (Bates) Foster"), so the page keeps the link as inferred, probable.
Samuel Foster
His death. There is no Suffolk probate for a Samuel Foster in the 1740s; check the will of 1728 (no. 5650).
Samuel Foster
His mother: the colonial tree marks Rebecca (Briscoe) as his mother on documentary evidence (the 1722 deed, and NEHGR 178, which lists him among her children by Samuel Foster). The page keeps the link as inferred, probable.
John Foster
His parentage. A Samuel Foster will of 1728 (Suffolk no. 5650) may be his father's and may name him.
John Foster
His estate papers (no. 12403) and the division Mollie cites.
Mary Foster
Her parents, the key gap on this side. Read Suffolk Probate no. 12403 (John Foster, 1760) with its division (Mollie's "Lib. 73, fol. 14") and the 1773 guardianships (15400, 15401, 15599) for a "Mary Thompson" among the heirs. Look for a first marriage of John Foster about 1743-45, and for her baptism in the Roxbury First Church records.
Mary Foster
Mollie (p. 114) makes Jane, John Foster's widow, her mother. The 1750 marriage date argues against it.
Mary Foster
Did she die in 1836 (Hosmer) or March 1837 (the Deer Isle record as the typescript quotes it)?
Edmund Freeman
Was the Elizabeth he married at Shipley in 1632 ("Elisabetha Raymer") his second wife? Brainard and Dawes-Gates proposed a widow Perry instead.
Edmund Freeman
The 1633/4 Chancery suit: which of the TNA references (C 2/ChasI/F43/29, F52/112, F42/34; C 21/F14/17) holds the depositions?
Edmund Freeman
A son John baptised at Pulborough 25 June 1633 and buried at Billingshurst 2 Oct 1634 (WikiTree notes) conflicts with this family. Unresolved.
Edmund Freeman
"New Oxford," where one inventory was taken in 1682, is unidentified.
Edmund Freeman
His first marriage: 16 or 26 June 1617? Check the Cowfold register.
Elizabeth Freeman
Her maiden name. Probably the "Elisabetha Raymer" whom "Edmundus Freiman" married at Shipley, Sussex, 10 Aug 1632, but that is not proven. Brainard (TAG 17, 1940) and Dawes-Gates proposed a widow Perry, which would make Edward Perry her son. Most compilers leave the name open.
Elizabeth Freeman
Was she the mother of Mary, wife of Edward Perry? See people/mary-freeman-1636.md.
John Freeman
Which baptism date is right?
John Freeman
Pane-Joyce identifies him with John Freeman of Sudbury, Massachusetts; unproven.
Elizabeth Freeman
Was the Mary Cuddington, widow, of 1682 a second wife of John Cuddington?
Elizabeth Freeman
Her death: "probably 24 June 1692, Rochester (intestate)" is compiled and unverified.
Elizabeth Freeman
Was she the "Elizabeth Freeman" of the 1660 Barlow testimony? Her stepmother is more likely, since she was married by then.
Mary Freeman
Was Mary Edmund Freeman's daughter, or was Edward Perry his stepson? The research leans to a daughter but leaves it open.
Mary Freeman
"Cycella" (b. c. 1631), added to Edmund's children by Paine, is probably the "Sycillae 4" of a different Freeman family on the Abigail; no file has been made for her.
Alice Freeman
Her parents, and the Æthelred II line.
Edmund Freeman
His birth and parents are unknown.
Edmund Freeman
The FamilySearch tree gives him a daughter Ellen, born 1592. She is not in Dawes-Gates, and 1592 is before the surviving Pulborough register begins (1595). No file has been made for her.
William Frost
His origin, and his will (the Frost Genealogy prints one of 1698, but in 1720 he was said to have died intestate).
George William Frost
The 1887 pistol accident, and why he left Santa Cruz; his business at Spokane, 1889-1920. The trees' "Banker, Spokane Falls" has no support; his banking was in California.
Thomas Genn
His parents: Thomas (1) or James (1)? The St. Stephen's Parish register, Northumberland.
Thomas Genn
His administration, about 1767-69, in Dorchester or Caroline County or the Maryland Prerogative Court.
Sicely Genn
Was she the mother of Thomas Genn's children, and what was her maiden name?
James Ginn
The Maryland proof: Thomas Genn's administration, about 1767-69, naming his heirs; the 1771 deeds (do they call James "of Gloucester"?); the Maryland Naval Office shipping lists, 1771-73.
James Ginn
The day of his death, and Ann's death (19 Sept 1822): the Castine Eagle and gravestones.
James Ginn
Hancock County deeds (1800-1803) and probate (1818); the 1800 and 1810 Bucksport census.
James Ginn
The officiant of the 1768 marriage (Gloucester Fourth Parish records).
Sally Ginn
Who was her father? The Bucksport intention of 25 Feb 1804, the 1804 marriage record, the Orrington town records of the Ginn children's births (1776-90), or a Ginn probate (James Ginn, Hancock County, 1818) naming her would settle it.
Sally Ginn
The colonial tree marks her link to James Ginn and Ann Riggs as inference and says Brigham's "William H. Ginn" "cannot be right," being a garbling of her brother William R. Ginn (b. 1786). The page keeps the link compiled and possible, with Brigham's reading as a possible alternative, since her father is an open research task (to-decide.md).
Mary Green
Her parentage: Torrey and a Green genealogy.
Mary Greenaway
The colonial tree marks her mother link as documented. The page keeps inferred, probable: the 1650 deed names her father, and her mother is John Greenaway's wife Mary of the NEHGR note.
John Greenaway
His English origin and arrival: check the Great Migration sketch.
Adam Haberkorn
His birthplace: the tree's "Wald, Altötting" is in Upper Bavaria, far from Waldthurn and Obertresenfeld in the Upper Palatinate, where his son and father are placed. Probably a mis-standardized place name.
Adam Haberkorn
He and Eve are given the same birth date, 24 Dec 1799, which looks copied.
Wybra Hanson
Her birth, parents and death are not in the research.
Dorothy Harbottle
Her second marriage: the page has 2 Feb 1651; the colonial tree writes 2 Feb 1651/2 (Roxbury VR 2:547). Hawley's first wife was buried 29 Nov 1651, so 1651/2 fits. Check how the record writes the year.
William Harlow
His English origin is unknown (MD 12:193-194). Mollie's suggestion that Capt. Edward Harlow of the Sagadahoc colony (1607) was his father or kinsman has no evidence.
William Harlow
The drift-whale case: the writ Mollie prints is dated 8 Jan 1689/90, so the town meeting of "10 March 1690" may be 1689/90 rather than 1690/1. Check the Plymouth town records.
Phebe Harlow
Her death date is not in the research.
Hannah Harlow
Her maiden name, birth and death date.
Ralph A. Hatten
His parents. Everything on the Hatten side above him (the Hattens, Philbricks, Marvins, Allees and Sawdys, and the famous kin through them) rests on the tree's word that he was the son of Thomas J. Hatten and Sarah Allee. Nothing found contradicts it, and a little supports it: the Jamestown Weekly Alert has "Conductor Thomas Hatten" going to Northfield, Minnesota, on farm business in 1915, and in 1919 "Mrs T J Hatten ... enroute to Seattle Wash." (source). His 1934 Washington death certificate, or the 1875 or 1880 census of Thomas J. Hatten's household, would settle it. (research/hatten/Hatten_Philbrick_Marvin.md)

James Hawkins
His birth. TAG 89:307-308 (via WikiTree) gives a baptism at Bluntisham-cum-Earith, Huntingdonshire, on 1 Jan 1609/10, but his age at death (67) and a 1660 deposition ("about fifty-six," Sumner) both put his birth about 1603/4. Left out until the conflict is settled.
James Hawkins
His father: the colonial tree marks Richard Hawkins as his father on documentary evidence. The records name Jane as "wife of Richard" and as the mother of James, Job and Thomas, and Richard's 1644 deed calls Richard and Jane Job's "owne ffather and Mother," but none names Richard as James's father, so the page keeps the link as inferred, probable.
Jane Hawkins
Her parents and baptism. WikiTree (Angell-540) cites TAG 89:307-308 and NEHGR 114:207-211, which have not been read.
Jane Hawkins
Her death, after June 1658 if the "widdow Hawkins" of Portsmouth was she.
Richard Hawkins
When he died. Records of Mass. Bay 3:63 (1646) refuses entry to "the widdowe Hawkings ... being knoune to be a dangerous pson," and Sumner follows it in calling Jane a widow by 1646, but the Portsmouth records show Richard living in 1648-1650.

Bennett Hodsoll
The colonial tree marks her baptism at All Saints Barking as documented; the page keeps it as compiled, since it is known here only from Bush's article as summarised online.
Thomas Holbrook
His Y-DNA. The FamilyTreeDNA Holbrook project's group for his descendants (haplogroup J-FTD548) rests on two Big Y testers, probably second cousins, who match each other but no other Holbrooks; their closest matches are mostly Freemans, and the project's administrator asks whether another lineage entered that line (research/holbrook/early-holbrook-family-england.md). A test by a male-line Holbrook descended from Capt. Richard Blackmer Holbrook would add a third, independent line and show whether J-FTD548 is really his signature.
John Holbrook
Which of his wives was the mother of his son John (b. c. 1650)? By the dates, Elizabeth Stream (married about 1645, died 1688), and the Mollie review traces the line through her; no record names John's mother.
John Holbrook

John Holbrook
Did he march a second time to Concord in June 1676, with thirty men, as Vinton says, or is that Vinton's version of the April muster?
John Holbrook

John Holbrook
The rest of the 1749 administration file (inventory, accounts, any division naming his children, in the Barnstable County probate images on FamilySearch). A division or account naming Elisha as his son would close the John-to-Elisha step, now about 95%.
Thomas Holbrook
Born 7 Apr 1712 or 27 June 1713? Two entries for a Thomas, son of John.
Elisha Holbrook
Records that might name Gideon as his son and close the Elisha-to-Gideon step (about 80-85%): The Mayflower Descendant 29:13 (an index entry for Elisha and Sarah Holbrook) and the Holbrook entries in vols. 26-34, which are not on archive.org; the Wellfleet First Congregational Church records, 1730-1786, and the Wellfleet book of births from 1763; and Eastham and Wellfleet deed copies naming his heirs (the county's own deed books burned in 1827).
Martha Holbrook
Is she the Martha Holbrook "of Eastham" who married Daniel Mayo Jr. there on 1 Mar 1738/9? That Martha died 12 Dec 1802 aged 80 years 21 days, which puts her birth about 21 Nov 1722. The Mayo research leaves her identity open.
Gideon Holbrook
Was he the Gideon Holbrook who was a Plymouth selectman in 1817-1820 and representative in 1819-20, or was that his nephew?
Gideon Holbrook
Was he the Gideon who was master and co-owner of the Endeavour in 1809, or was that his nephew? The colonial tree gives the Endeavour to Capt. Gideon without qualification; the page follows the Holbrook master tree, which leaves it open.
Gideon Holbrook
Did he come to Manomet Ponds as a boy with his uncle Naaman, as Mollie says? Naaman Holbrook's relationship to him is unknown.
Gideon Holbrook
The Plymouth town meeting records, 1817-1820, should show which Gideon was chosen selectman and representative. A deed by Gideon as one of Deacon Elisha Holbrook's heirs, or a sale of Wellfleet land after 1779, would settle his parentage.
Gideon Holbrook
Find a Grave memorial 40957263 gives a birth of 1786, which belongs to his nephew; a correction (born about 1765, aged 76 at death) would stop it spreading.
Richard Blackmer Holbrook
The marriage at Steilacoom on 24 Dec 1860: the colonial tree marks it documented; the page keeps it compiled until the marriage record is attached.
Richard Blackmer Holbrook
The Plymouth probate file of 1869 that names him "of Coveland": whose estate was it?
Eliphalet Holbrook
Which brother was "E. Holbrook" of the 1854 letter, Eliphalet or Elisha? The letter gives only the initial. Eliphalet married at Worcester in October 1854; Elisha was at Plymouth in 1849 and 1850 and bought Richard's share of their father's land in 1855. The full letter in Told by the Pioneers may say more.
Eliphalet Holbrook
His marriage record (Worcester, 11 Oct 1854) is still to be attached.
Horace Greeley Holbrook
Born 1 June 1863 (death record) or 3 Jan 1863 (FamilySearch tree)?
Mollie Frances Holbrook
Her birth: 4 Dec 1870 (the 1930 certificate, the 1900 census, her typescript) or about January 1871 (the 1871 census)? The 1861 of her death certificate and obituary is ten years out.
Mollie Frances Holbrook

Richard Blackmer Holbrook
His second family. Settled who Maud was (9 Oct 2026). Still open: whether they married, and whether he was divorced from Jessie or she only called herself a widow. Followed as a research thread (the trail).
Richard Blackmer Holbrook
Fort McMurray and Canada. Was the entry card of 1918 or 1919, and what took a steamboat master to northern Alberta "to make a home"? Did he go, did Maud and the boys follow, and where were they from 1919 to 1922, when none of them is in any census found? Searched on 9 Oct 2026 without result: the Canadian immigration and border entry indexes, crossings back into the U.S., the Alberta Homestead Index, British Columbia marriages and the 1926 Prairie census. Those indexes are incomplete (his own entry card is in none of them), so the question stays open; Ancestry's U.S.-to-Canada border crossings, 1908-1935, are still to search.
Richard Blackmer Holbrook
Why South Dakota? What drew a Puget Sound steamboat master and Maud to a wheat farm at Pollock: her family, kin of his own, land, or work? The 1915 North Dakota census has a Holbrook family in Williams County (Albert, Olive, Richard, Gay and Belmont), about 250 miles from Pollock; no tie to Richard is known, and Maud's family was in Washington.
Richard Blackmer Holbrook
The farm. When did he come to Pollock, and was the 600-acre wheat farm his? Campbell County deeds, and the Campbell County Progress of 28 Sept 1923.
Richard Blackmer Holbrook
His grave, in Spring Valley Cemetery, Pollock, unmarked as far as is known.
Richard Blackmer Holbrook
Still to search: the 1921 Seattle directory; the license application for Jessie's 1928 marriage, which may say whether she was widowed or divorced.
Richard Clifford Holbrook

Was he a son or a grandson of Roger Holbroke of Chew (will 1503, record), whose son Thomas was his executor? Roger was already an adult in 1463, so he is more likely the grandfather than the father (inferred).
Thomas Holbrooke
A lead for his parents: a Chancery suit of 1533-1538 was brought against "Elizabeth Holbroke alias Hedge and Thomas, her son" over pasture in Chew Stoke (TNA C 1/833/14, catalogue). The bill may name Elizabeth's husband.

The overseers of his will: Clement Weaver Sr. and Thomas Tylye (Lord), or Thomas Holbrooke, Clement Weaver the elder and Thomas "Eyly" (Davis)? Read the original.
William Holbrooke
Records that could raise his link to Thomas of Norton Malreward (about 85-90%) to the high 90s or settle the overseers: at the Somerset Heritage Centre, his original will (D/D/ct/1/H/137), a copy of the 1617 deposition (probably D/D/cd/50), the Holbrooke will abstracts (DD/X/HBS/1) and the Compton Dando deeds (DD/BR/su/6); at Bristol Archives, the Compton Dando surveys (AC/M/6, AC/M/11/13), which may list his holding before he left about 1598; and at the NEHGS library in Boston, Walter Goodwin Davis's typescript Holbrook Records, England 1544-1698 (G HOL 604) and Mss C 1374, which may make the Somerset abstracts unnecessary (the colonial tree's research case, research/colonial-tree/research-cases.md).
Margery Holbrooke
Was her mother Thomas's first wife or Edith? If she was the first wife's child, Edith married Thomas after 1555 and could not be William's mother.
Joan Holbrooke
Her first marriage: 8 May 1605 (register index) or 3 June 1605 (Weaver, Lord)? Check the register image.
Elizabeth Holbrooke
Was the marriage in 1610 or 1611? Check the register image.
Rebecca Holbrooke
Is she the Rebecka, daughter of William Holbrooke, baptised at Keynsham on 12 Jan 1594/5? It falls in William's Compton Dando years, a few miles away, but it is one baptism of a common name.
William Holbrooke
Was he the husband of the widow Cecily (or Sybil) Holbrooke, who was in Chancery over property in Glastonbury and Backwell in 1647-1654? Untested.
Edith Holbrooke
Her maiden name is unknown; Sanders was her first husband's name. Two leads, both unproven: the Horsingtons, yeomen of Corston and Compton Dando (in the 1500s "cousin" covered many kinds of kin; the will of John Horsington of Corston, 1536, names no daughters, so it neither supports nor rules this out, record); and, for her first husband, Thomas Saunders, son of William Saunders of Chew Stoke (will 1539).
Edith Holbrooke
Read the original will (D/D/ct/1/H/135).
Edith Holbrooke
Free will downloads from The National Archives that may name her kin: William Saunders of Chew Stoke, 1539/40 (PROB 11/28/50); Thomas Horsington of Corston, 1612 (PROB 11/119/416); Edward Saunders of Chew Stoke, 1591 (PROB 11/78/75). The Bath Record Office typescript "The Horsingtons of Corston, Pucklechurch, 1510-1673" (Acc/269/6) may show whether she was born a Horsington.
John Holbrooke
Was he the John Holbrooke buried at Norton Malreward on 30 June 1608, and so the "John Holbrooke my brother deceased" of Robert's will (1616/17)?
John Holbrooke
Davis suggests Nicholas Holbrooke of Compton Dando (d. 1639) was his son.
John Holbrooke
Davis thought it possible that he lived at Glastonbury and that the Edith buried there on 11 June 1612 was his wife, not William's. Unresolved.
John Holbrooke
Was he the "John Holbrooke my brother deceased" of Robert's will (1616/17), or was that John the elder?
John Holdershaw
His birth and parents. The Eastham records before 1760 have no Holdershaw; the Hancock probate papers (docket 2004) may give an age or a kinsman. Research: research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Cape_Cod.md.
Polly Holloway
Her parents and her ancestry; no record speaks to them.
Polly Holloway
Is "Margaret" her name?
Sarah Howes
Is the broken Mayo stone at Chequesset Neck, Wellfleet ("dy of YO ...... DANIEL DIED 65th"), hers? It would fit if she died about 1731-1734. It could also be Mary (Mulford) Mayo's.
John Howland
Mayflower Families Through Five Generations (Howland volume) has not been checked; it should carry the line down to Lucy (Bennett) Ellis.
John Howland
His parents (Henry and Margaret Howland of Fenstanton) are from WikiTree, unverified here.
Isaac Howland
His ID (fl1681, from his daughter's birth) predates the birth date now on the page; the research had no dates for him.
Isaac Howland
His will and inventory are known only from compiled accounts; the probate has not been seen.
Frances Humphrey
Her maiden name: was she Frances Coley? Check the Wendover register.
Frances Humphrey
Was she the mother of all his children, Susanna among them? Savage says only that Jonas came "perhaps" with her, and no record names Susanna's mother.
Frances Humphrey
When did she die?
Susanna Humphrey
Who was her mother? Her father's wife Frances is on record at Dorchester in 1638, and compiled trees give their marriage at Wendover in 1607, unverified. His second wife, Jane, widow of George Weeks, came later.
Elizabeth Ide
Check J. W. Reed's list of her children against the printed Attleborough births.
Martha Ide
Prove her Bliss parentage: the 1648 petition, if it exists, or Thomas Bliss's estate papers.
Nicholas Ide
The first child, born 11 Nov 1647: the archive.org text of the Rehoboth VR appears to read "IDE Nathaniel, of Nicholas," for this entry, which would confirm the Nathaniel of Thomas Bliss's will. Check the page image.
Nicholas Ide
The 1648 Plymouth Colony petition said (WikiTree, unsourced) to show him claiming a child's share of Thomas Bliss's estate. If it exists, it would prove his wife was a Bliss daughter.

Tabitha Ivory
Her death. The tree's "13 Oct 1740, Lynn" is not in the Lynn records. Research: research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Woodbury_Rand.md.
Mary Jackson
Her parents (Rowley VR). Not researched.
William Jeffrey
Any record of him in Scotland: his baptism (Chirnside, January 1772?), his marriage to Mary Lyall (about 1799), the baptisms of his children at Foulden. The FamilySearch and WikiTree trees give him parents, Andrew Jeffrey and Katherine Steele of Fogo and Chirnside; Andrew was a smith at Chirnside, but no record seen names William as his son; not linked.
William Jeffrey
William Jeffrey (1802-1879) of King Township: a son, as Find a Grave has it, against Graham's "one boy"? His Ontario death registration (1879) may name his parents.
William Jeffrey
His grave at Keene, and the 1851-52 census of Otonabee or Smith Township.
Andrew Jeffrey
His birthplace: Foulden (his gravestone) or Swinton (his obituary), both in Berwickshire.
Andrew Jeffrey
His children by Janet Hall, beyond Francis and the daughter who married Robert Kingan.
Isabella Jeffrey
Her husband's dates, and the Foulden baptism entry itself, which should name her parents.
William Jeffrey
Whether he was William Jeffrey and Mary Lyall's son: his death registration, his marriage record (1842), or a will.
Jean Jeffrey
Her husband's name, and where she and her sisters lived between 1822 and 1861.
Mary Jeffrey
Her baptism, January 1809, in the Foulden register (or another Berwickshire parish): her parents' names, which would prove the link to William Jeffrey and Mary Lyall.
Mary Jeffrey
Her death date: 1 Nov 1883 (the gravestone) or 15 Nov (WikiTree). The Ontario death registration for Woodstock would settle it.
Milly Johnson
Who was she? Pike County records for Milly or Amelia Johnson.
Milly Johnson
The name of her son, and whether the binding order calls him "of color."
Dorcas Joyce
Read McLean, TAG 43:1-13, for the evidence behind her dates and marriage.
Donald Orris Dorman Jr.
His parents. As a "Jr." he was named for his father, who is not yet identified.
Donald Orris Dorman Jr.
His obituary of February 2008, which would name his family; the Find a Grave page to be seen.
Richard Everett Ellingwood Jr.
His birth day (15 November in his father's memoir, 14 November in the obituary).

John Kendall
His dates are WikiTree's; the Dunstable records would confirm them and his children's births.
John Kneeland
His origin and parents.
John Kneeland
His administration (no. 7389), which may name his daughter Rachel.
Rachel Kneeland
Her death: "July 10, 1776, ae. 71" (Kneeland 1897) or "Rachel Parmelee death 10 Jun 1780 in New Haven" (a Connecticut church abstract cited on WikiTree, Kneeland-293)?
Rachel Kneeland
Her Parmelee marriage. John Kneeland's 1740 administration (no. 7389) may name her.
Rachel Kneeland
Her mother: the colonial tree marks Mary Green as her mother as unproven; the page has John Kneeland's wife Mary as her mother, inferred, probable, with Mary's Green parentage open on Mary's page.
Franz Kuchenmeister
His birth: 1848 (the tree) or 1844 (the 1922 biography; aged 25 in 1870).
Franz Kuchenmeister
Barbara Blatz: when she died, and her children's place in the family. They are Joseph's half-brothers.
Caleb Lamb
His death and estate (Suffolk Probate). Pane-Joyce's "30 Jun 1690" looks like a confusion with his marriage date.
Caleb Lamb
Born 9 Apr 1641 or 27 Nov 1639? The answer decides whether his mother was Dorothy or Elizabeth. Eliot's church record (above), which the colonial tree adds, names him Dorothy's first-born and Thomas's 7th child, born in the 2nd month 1641, and puts the 6th child, Benjamin, in the 8th month 1639; that favours 1641 and Dorothy.
Mary Lamb
Her birth record, about 1680-82, and her father Caleb Lamb's death and estate (Suffolk Probate).

Sarah Lessie
Her death: 23 Apr 1702 is given, but it has not been verified.
Anna Long
Her mother: Elizabeth (Kith and Kin) or Sarah Taylor (WikiTree)?
Robert Lord
His father. The 1603 will of John Lorde of Redriffe, clothier, names "two houses in Sudbury," "father Anthony Lorde" and "brother Robert Lorde" (EIHC 17:73), which suggests Anthony Lord was Robert of Ipswich's grandfather, not his father as unsourced online pages have it. That brother Robert could be Katherine Lord's husband; not proved. The Great Migration sketch of Robert Lord has not been read.
James Lord
His mother's maiden name. His birth record names her only as Mary.
Lucy Lord
Born 25 Aug 1746 (her Bible, the Choate Genealogy) or 1747 (baptized 30 Aug 1747)?
Lucy Lord
Who were Daniel Lord (d. 1819) and Miss Mary Lord (d. 1826) of her Bible?
Lucy Lord
Where is the Bible now? Last reported on Deer Isle with Thomas T. Low's descendants (the Deer Isle-Stonington Historical Society may know).
Mary Lord
Her maiden name. A 2025 Historic Ipswich article by Gordon Harris says "James Lord (1676 - 1734) married Mary (Haskell) Lord." It gives no source, and no marriage of a James Lord to a Haskell is in the Ipswich VR, so the Haskell name is unproven.
Mary Lord
When and where she married James Lord.
Thomas Low
Are the Polstead, Groton and Boxford entries his? NEHGR 174 (2020), Steele, "Descendants of Thomas Low, the Immigrant to Ipswich," may settle this, Susannah and Margaret Tod.
Thomas Low
His parents. A lead from Mollie (p. 71), quoting Redstone: the will of a widow Firmin of St. Peter's, Sudbury, "mentions her kinsman Giles Lowe and his children, Thomas, John and Margaret," and Redstone thought Thomas might have been baptized about 1605 in pages now lost from that register. He bought land from Thomas Firman at Ipswich in 1647; whether the Ipswich Firmins were the Sudbury family is untested.
Thomas Low
The 1579 Geneva Bible: last reported with Capt. Winthrop Low's family in 1868 (the Essex Historical Society or the Ipswich Museum may know).
Thomas Low
Is he the Thomas baptized at Groton in 1631? The 1669 deposition and his age at death fit; the 1676 deposition puts his birth about 1640. NEHGR 174 (2020), Edward E. Steele, "Descendants of Thomas Low, the Immigrant to Ipswich," may settle it.

Caleb Low
Was Major Caleb Low (1739-1810) of Danvers his son Caleb, baptized 8 July 1739? See caleb-low-1739. Mollie calls Major Caleb a brother of Nathan.
Caleb Low
Is he the Major Caleb Low (1739-1810) of Danvers, a captain on the Lexington alarm and major in Col. Nathaniel Wade's regiment in 1780 (Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors 9:1020)? The birth year fits, but no record yet joins them. If he is, Mollie is right that Major Caleb was a brother of Nathan Low (b. 1742).
Nathan Low
The Essex probate file (docket, inventory, division); the will is known from the record book.
Nathan Low
Gravestone photographs in Harmony Cemetery.
Nathan Low

The research file of 2 Oct 2026 calls Abigail, wife of Joseph Low of Fitchburg, his sister. The Abigail Low "wife of Joseph Low" in Caleb Low's will of 1773 was Caleb's daughter, which would make her his aunt, and no Abigail is among Nathan and Lucy's recorded children or in his father's will. Which is meant?
Solomon Low

Jane Low

Nathan Low
Who was the Paragon's master? The Portland paper's "B. F. Law," "owner and master," with "his father and brother" aboard, reads like a son of Capt. Nathan in command; Hosmer and the Kennebec Journal make Nathan the master. No B. F. Low has been found in the family. Her enrollment (Castine or Belfast), the List of Merchant Vessels for 1868-1874, any inquiry over the collision, and the Ellsworth American's death notice may settle it.
Nathan Low
His grave and gravestone (probably Forest Hill Cemetery).
Nathan Low
The full Hancock County estate file: inventory, division.
Nathan Low
Was he the "Nathan Low" who was selectman in 1828 and 1829 (Hosmer, not saying which)? Mollie gives the office to him for "1829 and 30."
Nathan Low
His 1840 census entry (two Nathan Lows are indexed at Deer Isle, FamilySearch 1:1:XHY5-6MP and XHY5-6MK).
Daniel Webster Low
Was he aboard the Paragon in 1874, and was he the "brother" or the master "B. F. Law" of the Portland paper?

Mary Lyall
Her baptism at Chirnside, and her parents. The FamilySearch and WikiTree trees give them as Joseph Lyal (d. 1799) and Jean Simpson, married at Bunkle and Preston in 1763; no record seen; not linked.

Ursula Macomber
William Macomber's administration papers (1670) in the Plymouth Colony probate: do they name his children?
Ursula Macomber
Was her mother the widow "Ursilla" Macomber of 1670, or an earlier wife of William Macomber? No record names her mother.
Frances Marsh
Her birth and death have not been found.
Frances Marsh
Was she the mother of all Isaac Buck's children, including Mehitable (m. 1679)?
Mary Martin
Her surname, and whether she was Rachel (Martin) Bigg's sister. If she was, James Martin and Joan Adam are ancestors twice over.
Pickett Marvin
His estate or will (Jackson County Probate Court, 1853) should name his children, and would settle whether Ruth Marvin was his daughter.
Pickett Marvin
When and where he married Polly Warth, and whether she was the mother of all his children.
Ruth Marvin
Was she Pickett Marvin's daughter? The case is circumstantial: Pickett was the Marvin of Letart, where she was born; she married in Gallia County; the family moved together to Bloomfield. No record names her as his child. His estate (Jackson County probate, 1853) or the 1818 marriage record would settle it.
Ruth Marvin
Her death: 1891 (the tree) or 1897 (WikiTree).
John Mayo
Who was the mother of his son John? Three theories, none proven: a Leiden marriage of 21 Mar 1618, "Jan Meyer" to "Timmosijn Breyck" (Mayo-Rodwick); Margaret Soden, Swalcliffe, 1619; or that the widow Tamasin was a second wife, possibly the widow of William Lumpkin.
John Mayo
Read Nickerson (NEHGR 95:39-49, 100-108; 103:32-42) and Chauncey Mayo (1927) for his English origin.

Who was his wife Martha Holbrook, and how was she related to Elisha Holbrook? John Holbrook (1686)'s daughter Martha was born at Scituate on 11 Nov 1721, close to but not the same as the birth her gravestone implies; the Mayo research leaves it open.
Sarah Mayo
Her death: the FamilySearch date of 16 May 1767 has no known source. The records put it between 1760 and November 1771.

Her death (1 Aug 1996, Lacey): the colonial tree marks it documented; the page keeps compiled, from the Collins-Reed master tree and the Ancestry tree's Social Security claims index, until a death record is attached.
Malcolm McMillan
His origin (Kilmallie parish, Inverness-shire, is likely from the place-name) and his parents. The trees' crossing on the Nora in 1801 has no passenger list or source; his death on 12 Apr 1840 and North Lochaber burial are unverified.
Lydia Messer
Who was her Butler husband, and when did she marry him?
Thomas Millett
His English origin (Chertsey or Newbury), the marriage date, and his will and probate: check the Great Migration sketches.
Thomas Millett
Where he died. The West Brookfield site has the family leaving Brookfield "before August 1675", and him dead by 26 Sept 1675; the page keeps Brookfield, after Babson. The presentation of his will (26 Sept 1675, per the site) would settle the date and perhaps the place.
Mary Millett
Her birthday: 26 August (Record Commissioners) or 27 August (NEHGR 5)? The original Dorchester record would settle it.
Mary Mills
Her father: the colonial tree marks the link to John Mills as compiled (from Savage's abstract of the will); the page has documented, probable.
Donald John Morilon
His obituary (Washington County, Oregon, 1997), and his own family.

Where in Canada his childhood was spent, and when. The Canadian indexes searched on 9 Oct 2026 have no entry for him under Morilon, Holbrook or Noel, but they are incomplete; Ancestry's U.S.-to-Canada border crossings, 1908-1935, are still to search.
Thomas Mulford
His origin is unknown. Some compilers link him to the Mulfords of East Hampton and Southampton, Long Island (WikiTree; Find a Grave); no record has been shown.
Thomas Mulford

Theresa M. Panian
Her mother's name: Anna Maria Haberkorn in the tree and the Zell caption, "Mary Habercorn" on the family history page. Every source from 1894 to 1922 calls her Mary; very probably one woman, Anna Maria known as Mary (see her page).
Alexander Pattullo
His parents. Three leads, none fitting: - WikiTree offers a baptism at Bellie, Moray, 29 Nov 1772, to James Pitilloe and Jean Gordon, chosen because his first son was James; it does not fit "a native of Dundee." - Find a Grave's contributor offers Carnbee, Fife, 5 Mar 1788, son of John Pittullo and Janet Halket; too young for a man of 54 in 1828. - What that last record does show is a Pattullo married to a Halket in Fife, and a Janet Halket Patullo was baptised at Bo'ness in 1755. His son's name, Halkett, very probably honours a Halket in his own family, perhaps his mother. - The Dundee registers for 1773-1775 are the place to look.

Mary Pattullo
Her birth date: 17 Sep 1852 in the Ancestry tree, 17 Jul 1852 on WikiTree; the 1900 census favours September. The Caledon register or a baptism would settle it.
Mary Pattullo
The image of her 1932 death certificate.
Thomas Dufferin Pattullo
Lillian's maiden name. Fisher prints it "Riedemiester" (twice, for her and her father Otto), the Wikipedia article "Reidemeister"; the German name is usually spelled Riedemeister. A Toledo record (her birth or baptism, her father's death, or her first marriage to Jerry Miles) would settle it, and give her dates.
Thomas Dufferin Pattullo
The Wikipedia article on him has Freeman drowning when the party's boat capsized on Lake Bennett in early November 1897, and Ogilvie complaining of Duff's "drinking and rebellious spirit." Fisher puts the drowning at an ice jam below the Big Salmon on 18 November; "rebellious spirit" has not been found in Guest or Fisher, and the words found are Ogilvie's "Walsh's pimp" and Andrew Pattullo's "drinking binges." The article could be corrected.

Elizabeth Payson
Her mother: the colonial tree marks Elizabeth Dowell as her mother on documentary evidence. Her birth record names only her father, so the page keeps the link as inferred, probable.
Elizabeth Payson

His origin, and his first wife's name. The mother of Abigail (b. about 1646) was presumably the first wife, who died in 1662.
Michael Pierce
His will is known from the Pierce Genealogy's printing; read the original in the Plymouth Colony probate records.
Hannah Pontus
Was Wybra Hanson her mother? Probably (Mollie's typescript and the colonial tree say so), but no record names her mother.
Mary Pontus
Her birth and death dates are not in the research.
John Porter
His English origin rests on the statements of Henry D. White reported by Stiles; the Felsted and Messing registers have not been seen.
Jane Powyes
Her death. Davis gives it as 24 Apr 1677, but he gives the same date for the probate of her husband's will, so one of the two may be a slip (Davis pp. 128-129).
Sarah Prence
Was her mother Mary Collier or Apphia (Quicke) Freeman? If the latter, the Colliers drop out of the line.
Thomas Prence
Which wife was the mother of which daughters? Stratton gives Mary Collier only Jane and Mary; the Plimoth Plantation sketch says it is not certain who was the mother of Judith, Elizabeth and Sarah.
Thomas Prence
His father's will (All Hallows Barking, London) has not been seen.
John Prior

Matthew Prior
His English origin and his wife Mary's maiden name.
John Proctor
His age: 40 in 1635 (about 1595) or 75 in 1667 (about 1592)?
Martha Proctor
Her maiden name, and whether she was the "mother Prockter" living in 1673.
Martha Proctor
Was the Martha of the 1672 will the Martha of the 1635 ship list? Historic Ipswich says a first wife Martha died 13 June 1659 and that John Proctor Sr. remarried another Martha. The Low research instead assigns that 1659 death to John Jr.'s first wife, Martha Giddings. Unresolved.

Daniel Read
Find a record of his death; J. W. Reed's 17 Oct 1710 is compiled.
William Read
The generations between William and the Ashe County Reeds. A Y-DNA match between a male-line descendant of James Reed (JoEllen Reed's brother, if he tests) and Reed men of the lines Heinegg traces to William would test the link.
William Read
Is he the William Read of the 1729 Sappony Creek sale?
William Read
Is the William Reed of the 1756 Granville grant on the Eno River (Gv139) one of this family? Untested.
Daniel Read
The children of Daniel Read and Elizabeth Ide (printed Attleborough births), to check J. W. Reed's list.
Daniel Read
His birth and parentage: check the printed Attleborough births for the children of Daniel Read and Elizabeth Ide. His father also had a son Daniel (recorded "Daniell"), b. 9 Sept 1713, by his first wife. If that son survived, could he be this Daniel? His age at death ("in his 85th y." in 1801) points to a birth about 1716, not 1713. J. W. Reed's "Dec. 3, 1716," at Attleborough, to Daniel and Elizabeth (compiled) would make him a second Daniel, the 1713 son having presumably died young; the page keeps the birth as "c. 1716" until the Attleborough record is seen.
Daniel Read

Stephen Reed
The DNA claim (that he was Rhoda's father) is stated without the evidence.
James Reed
Which James is Mary's father, (A) or (B)? It would be confirmed by his purchase deed for the SW quarter of Section 17 if it calls him "of Clay County, Kentucky"; by an 1850 Morgan County census entry for his widow Susannah aged about 70-80; or by a probate, deed or court record naming Mary, Elizabeth, Jesse or Hiram Collins among his heirs. It would be broken by a James Reed head already on the 1830 Morgan County census, or a second James Reed head in Clay in 1830. The 1841 Clay estate file would show whose estate it was.
James Reed
Is the will's second son John (Robbins's abstract, JoEllen Reed's notes) or James (her typed transcription)? Deed Book J, p. 522 will settle it.
James Reed
Did he die before 6 Jan 1845 or in December 1845? The recording date says before.
James Reed

Randolph Reed
The 1846 deed itself: does it name James's widow?
Mary Reed
What fixes her death at about 1852? Where is she buried?
Mary Reed
She gave Virginia as her birthplace in 1850, while her father's household was in Ashe County, North Carolina, in 1800 and 1810. Ashe borders Grayson County, Virginia.
Mary Reed
Her maternal line is the one a Reed mtDNA test would trace (Elizabeth Reed's daughter-lines are the cousin route; see the origin-line addendum, task 60).

Elisha Reed
Birth and death dates.
Elizabeth Reed
A James Read consent in either of the Hiram-Elizabeth marriage files (1828 or 1829) would document her as James's daughter.
Elizabeth Reed
Is she the Elizabeth, 39, born Indiana, with a Hiram Collins, 46, in Knox County, Indiana, in 1850? The origin-line addendum logs that entry with a caution: there were several Hirams, and it sits uneasily with the Reed marriage and the 1840 household.
Elizabeth Reed
Her daughters' female lines are the route to a Reed mtDNA test.
John Reed
John or James? Deed Book J, p. 522, on FamilySearch film 1468446, will settle it.
William Reed
A James Read consent in his 1830 marriage file would test him as James's son.
William Reed

Sarah Reid
Was she James Reed's daughter?
Sarah Reid
Is she the Sarah Reed who married Isaac Hollingsworth, whom JoEllen Reed makes James's sibling or cousin? Not known.
Sarah Reid
The main research file asks whether she is the slave female aged 14-26 in Bradley's 1820 Floyd County household.
Sarah Reid
When did she die?
Samuel Reid
The 1841 Clay estate file: whose estate, and does it call Samuel a son?
Rufus Rice
His death. The tree has 28 Sep 1840 in Whiteside County, Illinois; but the estate of "Rufus Rice of Dearborn County", with Mary Abigail and Elijah Ellingwood among his heirs, was administered in Indiana from 1846 (source). Either he died in Indiana by 1846 or the estate was settled years after his death. The research on the wives' families finds him in the 1840 census at Manchester, Dearborn County, and buried at Old Hogan Hill Cemetery there, dying in 1840 (research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Wives_Families.md; see research/to-decide.md). A Maine record gives his birth at Freeport, 16 Jul 1794, to James Rice and Abigail, and he married Mary Sylvester at Durham, Maine, on 10 Oct 1819 (FamilySearch QP7S-1H44 and 2HKF-3SF, indexes as cited on WikiTree).

Rebecca Russell
Her parents and dates are unknown here. WikiTree identifies her as Rebecca Russell, b. 24 June 1711 at Lexington, daughter of John Russell and Rebecca Blodgett (source); that has not been checked, and the Lexington family is not otherwise tied to Brimfield.
Mary Ryan
Her origin. Some fourteen John Dwyer and Mary Ryan marriages are indexed in Co. Tipperary between 1812 and 1862, three in the right years (Anacarty 1845, Knockavilla 1847, Clonoulty 1849); without a sponsor, a townland or a sibling's record, none can be chosen.
Mary Ryan
Her death, after 1885.
Sybil Sawdy
Her mother. The tree makes her Sarah Soule, daughter of Jacob Soule of Tiverton, which would bring a Mayflower descent from George Soule. Jacob's will (1807) does name a daughter "Sarah Sawdey," but no record names Sybil's parents, the Mayflower Society's volume gives Jacob's Sarah a husband William Sawdey, and the tree's death of 1801 cannot be right if Sarah was living in 1807. Jane Fletcher Fiske's "The Sawdy Family of Boston, Rhode Island, and Points West" (NEHGR 148, 1994) should settle it. In the records the tree attaches (not checked here):
Sybil Sawdy
1860. Lenox, Ashtabula, Ohio (record)
Emma Seabrook
Her first name (Emma or Faith), and where and when she married. Neither name is in the Tring parish register, where a Robert Seabrooke's children were baptized from 1599.
Robert Seabrook
His origin, his wife or wives, and when he came to Stratford.
Isaac Sheldon
His parents and English origin are not researched here.
Mary Sheldon
Her birth date. Savage gives none; she came after a brother born 13 June 1695 and before the move to Suffield, where a brother was born on 26 Dec 1700. WikiTree's 26 Dec 1699 at Westfield is probably a confusion with that brother's date.
John Short
His parents, and when he came to Upper Canada. The FamilySearch tree gives him a father "John Short, 1785" (GYWT-69S), with no wife or source shown. The Rugley birthplace points to the registers of Alnwick parish (or Shilbottle or Edlingham), Northumberland, for his baptism in 1808.

John Gerald Short
His birth year: 1845 (his death certificate and his grave marker, both very probably from his daughter Beatrice) or 1847 (his age at marriage and the 1900 census). The 1851 and 1861 censuses (Newcastle; Cobourg) would show it.
John Gerald Short

Ruth Ethelwyn Short
When the family moved from Chicago to Spokane (her father was at Spokane by November 1910).
Sarah Slater
Her parents. The Ancestry tree gives her a birth on 25 Aug 1744 at Boston and a mother Susanna Mulberry, with no record; they are not used. The Mulberry ancestry is disproven: Susanna Mulberry (b. Boston 1725/6, daughter of Benjamin and Ann Mulbery) married Malachy Salter, the Halifax merchant, in 1744 ("Malachi Salter & Susanna Mulberry," Boston Marriages) and died at Halifax in 1794, aged 68; "Salter" was read as "Slater," and no Sarah is among the Salter children. The tree's death "19 Feb 1794, Halifax" is Mrs. Salter's, and the grandparents it gives, Capt. Benjamin Mulberry and Anne Everton, are the Salters' ancestry, not this family's (research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Woodbury_Rand.md). Boston candidates for her parents: James Slater and Elisabeth Odiorne (married 1735), Claus Slater and Sarah Russell (married 1739/40), or Peter Slater and Abigail Bradford (1741-51). A lead: "Asa Stodder & Mary Slatter" were married by Rev. Samuel Stillman on 24 Nov 1765, six weeks before Sarah's own marriage; Asa Stoddard, bricklayer, was surety on her administration bond in 1784, and Stillman married her to Isaac Downes two days later. Mary was possibly her sister.

Check a second scan of Bolton p. 45. Is the day in no. 94 the 21st (Susanna's birth in the VR) or the 27th (the date Bolton gives for Susanna's baptism, as the colonial tree reads it)?
Edward Stephens
His parents. The master tree heads the Stephens section with Edward Stephens of Marshfield (living 1665), who had children Edward, William, Elizabeth and Patience (m. John Phillips) [C], but does not mark him as an ancestor or state that this Edward was his son. The Holbrook-Low colonial tree does link them: it calls the Marshfield man, "origin unknown," "probably the father of Edward of Plymouth" [compiled], on the evidence of Davis (Part II p. 252) and the Warren research. That is the same compiled evidence the master tree has, and no record names Edward's father, so the link is not made here until the family decides.
Phebe Stephens
Her birth date and place.
Phebe Stephens
Ziba and Isaac Ellis, named in the 1805 quitclaim but not in the 1785 warning-out, were probably her younger children, born 1785-89. No record says so.
Sarah Stockbridge

Thomas Thompson
His parents and origin: Roxbury and Boston records around 1765. No Thomas Thompson birth about 1744 is in the printed Boston births. Roxbury's Samuel Thompson, who married Jane Steward on 30 June 1747, is too late to be his father unless he was younger than his stated age.

Her maiden name. She may be the Agnes Wedson who married a Thomas Tupper at Tillington, Sussex, on 18 May 1614 (NEHGR 159, via Sibert), which is unproven. The name "Hodgson" sometimes given for her is unsupported.

Thomas Varney
Caleb Low's will of 1773 names "Thomas Varney, brother." The colonial tree reads him as Caleb's brother-in-law, that is Abigail's brother Thomas (b. 1715), not this Thomas, who would have been ninety in 1773 and Caleb's father-in-law. The page follows the earlier reading; check the will.

A great-granddaughter wrote in 1895, "I don't know about the first wife, but the second was a Widow Walbridge, of Wales, Mass." Nothing else suggests a second marriage: Margaret was his wife from before 1751 and his widow in 1794.
Hannah Walbridge
Her birth: 11 Oct 1752 (the Stafford town records) or 1751 (the DAR line and the Ancestry tree)?
Augustine Walker
His first wife, the mother of Elizabeth, is unknown.
Augustine Walker
His birth and parents are unknown. The Chancery suit Franketon v Walker (TNA C 2/Eliz/F2/28) names an "Augustin Walker" as defendant and may show whether he is this man and where he came from.
Ralph Wanless
His will (Pocahontas County, 1842) and his pension file (NARA M804) should name his daughters, and would prove Elizabeth Hatten one of them.
Ralph Wanless
His father's name: "Ralph" rests on family tradition and the tree.
Ralph Wanless
Where he is buried: Craig records two traditions, Pocahontas County and Green Valley, Virginia.
Margaret Wanless
Her maiden name (Adams, or Wiley, perhaps as a widow) and her first husband's name.
Richard Warren
His birth and parents. Proposals not proven: a family near Therfield, Herts, and a Richard baptised there 9 Nov 1589, son of John (Caleb Johnson, 2003); a baptism at Rickmansworth, 1576 (WikiTree contributors); a baptism at Newport, Essex, 22 Sept 1583, son of Richard and Joan (Hadsley), and a Richard Warren free of the Drapers' Company in 1609/10 (L. W. Throop, California Mayflower Quarterly, 2023-2026; source). No record connects any of them to Elizabeth Walker or to Plymouth.
Richard Warren
Which Richard Warren was the London draper, and was he the passenger? The Drapers' Company's own registers may settle it: the wording of Simpkins's freedom, and whether Warren paid his dues after 1620.
Richard Warren
Is the Richard Warren of the Honourable Artillery Company roll of 1612 the same man?
Richard Warren
Where the case stood in October 2026 (the colonial tree's research case, kept in research/colonial-tree/research-cases.md): about a 15% chance that he was the Drapers' Company freeman of 1609, and most of the weight on a man not yet identified. The Drapers' Company archive has been written to about the draper's apprentices (Henry Mellyn, 1610; Nicholas Simpkins, 1612/13); the follow-up questions are whether he is in the Quarterage Book from 1617 and pays after 1620. Other leads: Boyd's Inhabitants of London for a Richard Warren family unit (it may tie the draper to a marriage); the Baldock register for Warren baptisms 1570-1610, and the Great Amwell, Ware, Hertford, Therfield, Baldock and Royston registers for Richard and Elizabeth in 1610-20 (a 1699 Drapers' record names a Richard Warren, cooper, of "Balbuck"); and Big Y tests of male-line Warrens from the Therfield and Kelshall, Newport and Saffron Walden families, where a match inside E-FTC19215 would point to an English family.
Mary Warren
No English baptism has been found for her or her sisters.
Abigail Warren

Polly Warth
Her birth, death and marriage dates, and her mother's name.
Jean Watson
Her birth: 1768-69 (her gravestone's age) or 1771 (the Prestonpans baptism WikiTree gives her). If the 1771 baptism is hers, her parents were James Watson and Jean Dickson. The Prestonpans register for 1768-1771 would show whether there is another Jean Watson to choose between.
