Notes

Brother of Jane (Robson) Pattullo. His marble panel at Dixon’s Union Cemetery, Caledon, reads “James Robson, died Dec. 4, 1876, aged 76 yrs & 5 [?] ds, a native of Roxburghshire, Scotland. Also Esther Dixon, wife of the above, died May 16, 1874, aged 50 [?] yrs, a native of [Donegal?], Ireland” (source). It is set in the pedestal of a tall column with an urn, which looks like the one over his parents, Thomas Robson and Jean Clark, in the same cemetery. Their children included Louisa (1845-1918), Lavina (1849-1919) and Thomas Clark Robson, whose names join both his grandparents’.

Open questions

  • Whether he and Esther are on the same column as his parents; his wife’s birthplace and age, worn on the stone.
