- Halkett Pattullo
His marriage in the Oxford County register (1866) names his father, "Halret" [Halkett] Pattullo (FamilySearch Q2CB-Q6TC; index, not seen); Find a Grave and WikiTree make him the eldest son. The register image would make it proven.

Notes
Brother of Mary (Pattullo) Short, and the eldest of Halkett Pattullo and Jane Robson’s sons, named, as the Scottish custom named a first son, for his father’s father, Alexander Pattullo of Caledon. He grew up on his grandfather’s farm at Caledon and moved with the family to Blenheim Township, Oxford County, in 1855, the year his father died there. On 17 October 1866 he married Elizabeth Ann Allison, daughter of Adam Allison and Elizabeth N. Basteda, in Blenheim; the Oxford County register names his father as “Halret” [Halkett] Pattullo (record).
By 1880 the family had crossed into Michigan. The census that June found “Alexander Patulla,” 44, at
Forester, Sanilac County, with Elizabeth A., 36, and their children Hallett, 12, Clara Jane, 10,
Isabella E., 8, Margaret B., 6, Thomas R., 4, and Adam, 1, all born in Canada. The eldest was named
for his grandfather Halkett, and Thomas R. very probably for his uncle Thomas Robson Pattullo, the
Barkerville miner [I]. Alexander died that December, on the 22nd, and is buried in the Forester
Township Cemetery at Carsonville (Find a Grave 139177154, as WikiTree has it;
source). His son, as Halkett A. Pattullo
(1867-1936), later lived at Hinsdale, Illinois (research/ellingwood/Ellingwood_Wives_Families.md).
He is the “Alexander, 1835-1880” among Halkett’s children on Find a Grave (source). An Alexander K. Pattullo who died in Oscoda County, Michigan, in 1896, once attached to his WikiTree profile, is a different man (his probate file, as WikiTree’s research notes give it).
