Sarah Bartlett
Wife of Samuel Rider Jr., whom she married at Plymouth on 23 Dec 1656, and mother of John Rider, so great-grandmother of Phebe (Harlow) Stephens. She was probably a daughter of Robert Bartlett and Mary Warren; her sister Rebecca (Bartlett) Harlow is the other ancestor through whom the family descends from that couple.

Married Samuel Rider Jr. at Plymouth, 23 Dec 1656: “Samuell Rider married to Sarah Bartlett” (PCR 8). Her children were Samuel, born 18 Nov 1657, who died young, and John, born about 1663/4 (Davis 2:216; PCR 8). Mother of John Rider and so great-grandmother of Phebe (Harlow) Stephens. Her sister Rebecca (Bartlett) Harlow is the other ancestor through whom the family descends from Robert Bartlett and Mary Warren, and the two lines met again when Sarah’s granddaughter Mercy Rider married Rebecca’s grandson William Harlow on 24 Feb 1714/15.
Open questions
- Her birth date is not in the research, and no record of her death has been found; she was dead by 14 June 1680, when her husband married again.

Mollie's chart has her marrying Samuel Rider in 1656 and settling at Yarmouth, with sons Samuel, born 1657, and John.

Probable. That Rebecca (m. William Harlow 1649) and Sarah (m. Samuel Rider 1656) were daughters of Robert Bartlett and Mary Warren is standard in the Warren genealogies, but no record cited names their parents. If so, the family descends from Mary twice: Phebe Harlow's parents, William Harlow and Mercy Rider, were second cousins.

She married his son, Samuel Rider Jr. (c. 1630-1715), on 23 Dec 1656, not in 1643 as the chart on p. 46 has it. Samuel Sr.'s will of 1679 names his wife Anne, who outlived him, so he was not Sarah's husband (Bowman, Mayflower Descendant 11). On p. 39a Mollie herself calls him "Samuel Rider (2)".
