Notes

Wife, and by 1695 widow, of Lt. Isaac Buck of Scituate.

Her father, John Marsh (or March), was an inhabitant of Charlestown by 1638. He died on 1 Jan 1665/6; his will of that day left “to dau. Buck, 1 common” in Charlestown (Wyman’s abstract, 2:655). Byron Buck says she sold it to William Johnson, leaving her stepmother Anna the use of it (compiled).

She was a widow at the division of her husband’s estate (Deane). In the 1697 division she received for her dower the use of the house, half the barn, two and a half acres next to her son Thomas’s, and an acre of salt marsh. The administrators’ account lists “Cloaths for apparral taken up by the widow since her husbands decease” at £3 17s (Plymouth County Probate, transcribed in Byron Buck’s genealogy).
