Son of John and Jane Foster. Married Mary Draper of Dedham at Roxbury, 11 June 1778. Hosmer’s William Foster of Deer Isle, a blacksmith from Dedham, “brother” of Mrs. Thomas Thompson, is taken to be this man; that is our inference. “Of him Deacon Nehemiah Closson learned his trade” (Hosmer p. 51).
