Thomas Benjamin Hatten

Probably the father of Ralph Hatten, who married Sarah Ann Philbrick. Born in Virginia about 1787, he married Elizabeth Wanless in Bath County, Virginia, in 1813 and moved to Jackson County, Ohio, where she died in 1831 and he married Ruth Bowen in 1837. He was farming there in 1860 and, as the Ancestry tree has it, died at Eudora, Douglas County, Kansas, in 1865.

Notes

Born in Virginia in 1786 or 1787, he married Elizabeth Wanless in Bath County in 1813 and moved to Jackson County, Ohio, where Elizabeth died in 1831 and he married Ruth Bowen in 1837 (source). He was farming in Franklin Township at 73 in 1860, and died at Eudora, Kansas, in October 1865, nearly eighty. WikiTree cites a War of 1812 service record, not yet seen.

The tree’s “John Hatten of Southwark” for his father is unsourced, and the London newspaper clipping of 1799 attached to John belongs to a namesake.
