Lucretia Nichols
Wife of Ralph Wanless, whom she married in Augusta County, Virginia, in 1788, and mother of his twelve children, among them the Methodist preacher Rev. James Wanless; the family lived near Mount Tabor in what became Pocahontas County. Probably a daughter of Levan Nichols, and probably the mother of Elizabeth (Wanless) Hatten, whose son Ralph Hatten named a daughter Lucretia.

Notes
Wife of Ralph Wanless, whom she married in Augusta County on 30 Sept 1788, the bond naming her as “Crissey Nickoles,” daughter of Levan Nickoles (source), and mother of his twelve children, among them Elizabeth (Wanless) Hatten and the Methodist preacher Rev. James Wanless. The family lived near Mount Tabor in the Hills of what became Pocahontas County. Norman’s family file traces her own family in Cotrill’s “Descendants of Zepheniah Nichols” (source).
Her uncommon name came down in the family: Elizabeth’s son Ralph Hatten named a daughter Lucretia (b. 1848), one of the reasons the research takes Elizabeth to be her daughter.
