Lemuel Woodworth

Of Lebanon, Connecticut, where he was born in 1735, probably the youngest son of Joseph Woodworth and Ann Manchester. He married Elizabeth Hunt in 1757 and had nine children; his sons Joseph and Benjamin served in the Revolution and went to Fenner, New York. Notes

Of Lebanon, Connecticut, youngest son of Joseph Woodworth and Ann Manchester, and grandfather of Nancy (Woodworth) Fairchild. “LEMUEL, b at Lebanon, Ct, June 25, 1735. m Oct 10, 1757, Elizabeth Hunt. Children— 1 Joseph, b May 29, 1758. 2 Benjamin, b Jan. 1, 1760. Mary, b Oct 21, 1762. Elizabeth, b Feb. 6, 1765. Lydia, b Dec. 17. 1767. Sarah, b Feb. 2, 1770. 3 Lemuel, b July 15, 1772. 4 John, b Feb. 23, 1776. Ann, b Aug. 13. 1780” (source).

Two of his sons served in the Revolution: Joseph “Served in the Revolutionary War and was at the battle of Bunker’s Hill,” and afterwards farmed at Fenner, Madison County, New York; Benjamin “was a Revolutionary soldier” and also went to Fenner. His son Lemuel settled in Greene County, New York, and his daughter Ann is very probably the Anna Woodworth who married Matthew Winter, Lemuel’s wife’s brother: the East Kill Valley Genealogy names “Anna’s … brother Joseph, a soldier of the Revolution b. Lebanon,” and her stone’s date, “13 [Aug?],” matches Ann’s birthday (source).
