Ralph Hatten
Probably the father of Thomas J. Hatten, who married Sarah Edith Allee, and probably a son of Thomas Hatten and Elizabeth Wanless. Like his father he moved from Bath County, Virginia, to Jackson County, Ohio, where he married Sarah Ann Philbrick in 1847, and later to Minnesota. As the Ancestry tree has it, he was born in 1815 and died in Dakota County, Minnesota, in 1895.

Notes
Born in Bath County, Virginia, in 1815; like his father he moved to Jackson County, Ohio, where he married Sarah Ann Philbrick there on 1 July 1847 (source). He had been married before: a Josiah Hatten, born in 1837, was in his household in Liberty Township in 1850. The family later moved to Minnesota, near Sarah Ann’s mother; he died in Dakota County in 1895 and is buried with Sarah Ann at Red Rose Cemetery, Waterford, where Ruth (Marvin) Cheeseman also lies.
