Elizabeth Esmond

Also Elizabeth Deyoe

Wife of Peter J. Deyoe of Pittstown and Wilton, New York, and probably the mother of Jane Maria (Deyoe) Adams. Born in 1788, at Malta as the Ancestry tree has it, she died in 1841, aged fifty-three. Possibly a daughter of Joseph Esmond and Catherine Deyo, which would make her husband her first cousin and give Jane Maria two descents from Peter Deyo and Charity Cramer.

Family

Father
Joseph Esmond

The Ancestry tree's Joseph Esmond and Catherine Deyo were a real couple: Peter Deyo's will of 1812 names "Catherine wife of Joseph Ismond." If they were her parents, she and her husband were first cousins and Jane Maria descends twice from Peter Deyo and Charity Cramer. Schaghticoke or Pittstown baptisms, or Joseph Esmond's estate (d. c. 1813), would settle it.

Other claim · Hasbrouck and Heidgerd (1958)Deyoe Esmond✕disproven"dau. of Deyoe Esmond & Hannah": impossible, since Hannah Deyoe, wife of Peter D. Esmond, was born in 1790, and "Deyoe Esmond" was a farmer at Tomhannock in 1870.

Mother
Catherine Deyo

A daughter of Peter Deyo (bp. 1739) and Charity Maria Cramer, if the tree is right.
