Pedigree
Notes
Eldest son of Deacon Elisha Holbrook. Of Wellfleet, then of Plymouth by 1790; shipowner. “Eliphalet Holbrook of Wellfleet… Yeoman” was made guardian of his youngest half-brother Jeremiah in June 1779.
At Plymouth he and Gideon Holbrook, “both of Plymouth… Mariner[s],” sold “our Dwelling house” at Monument Ponds to Caleb Bartlett on 20 Nov 1795, and he, Gideon and Jesse Harlow co-owned a Plymouth schooner in 1803-1804. That partnership is part of the case that Gideon was his brother.
Father of the other Plymouth Gideon Holbrook (1786-1868), mariner, who married Elizabeth (Betsey) Howland in 1808. Davis (1899) pushes his name up a generation, making an “Eliphalet 1st” the father of Elisha.

- DisprovenEliphalet of Mendon and Bellingham fathered Naaman, Elisha and six more
His dates fit Peter's son Eliphalet (b. 27 Feb 1691/2, d. Bellingham 1775), but that man's children were born at Mendon and Bellingham in 1717-1736, and nothing places him or them on Cape Cod. These are Wellfleet Holbrooks: Ezekiel was Elisha's brother, and David, Gideon, Jonathan, Eliphalet and Mary were Elisha's own children.
