Adeline Asenath Fairchild
Wife of William H. Bell and mother of Lucy Ellen Bell, who married George William Frost. By the compiled genealogies a daughter of John Fairchild and Catherine Clawson, she was born at Hunter, Greene County, New York, in 1829 and died at St. Cloud, Minnesota, in 1891. Elizabeth (Fairchild) Frost was her first cousin, so Florence McMillan had Fairchilds on both sides.

The Ancestry tree, Gilmore (from Plume) and the East Kill Valley Genealogy agree on the date.

- John Fairchild
Two compiled genealogies, perhaps not independent, list her among John and Catherine's children (Gilmore, from Plume; the East Kill Valley Genealogy, under her mother's gravestone). In 1850 she was in the household of John's brother Edward at Conewango; the Bells later lived in Walworth County, Wisconsin, where John settled.

The Ancestry tree's dates for her mother (born 1814, died 1900) are not Catherine's; her gravestone has her dying in 1831, aged 27.

Notes
As the Ancestry tree has her, with Gilmore and the East Kill Valley Genealogy. A Fairchild of Greene County like Elizabeth (Fairchild) Frost, her first cousin, so Florence McMillan had Fairchilds on both sides. Her mother died when she was two, and her father remarried twice. The East Kill Valley Genealogy, under her mother’s stone: “Adaline b. 27 Mar. 1829 d. 17 Mar. 1891 who m. 1850 William H. Bell and had Dora who m. D. W. Stanford, Watson who m. 1st. Maggie Gorham” (source). Gilmore, from Plume, has the marriage on 8 September 1849 (source). In the 1850 census she was still “Adeline Fairchild,” at Conewango, Cattaraugus County, in the household of her uncle Edward Fairchild, which favours 1850; Gilmore’s “Adeline b. ca 1829” among Edward’s children is that census entry, not a second daughter.
