Jane Powyes
Wife of Thomas Holbrook the immigrant, whom she married at Glastonbury in 1616. In March 1634/5, probably living at Broadway, Somerset, she was enrolled with him at Weymouth, Dorset, in the Rev. Joseph Hull's company. She was probably the mother of John Holbrook, and possibly a daughter of William Powyes; she was still living in 1673.

Notes
Wife of Thomas Holbrook the immigrant, married 12 Sept 1616 at St John the Baptist, Glastonbury (Somerset register index; Anderson, Great Migration 3:350-353). Living in 1673. The Glastonbury register index has only her 1616 marriage.
The family was enrolled at Weymouth, Dorset, on 20 March 1634/5 in the Rev. Joseph Hull’s company (NEHGR 25:14): “THOMAS HOLBROOKE of Broudway aged 34: yeare / JANE HOLBROOKE his wife aged 34 Yeare,” with John 11, Thomas 10, Anne 5 and Elizabeth 1 (Hotten, Original Lists, p. 285). Her husband deposed in 1666 that Hull’s company landed at Dorchester on 7 June 1635 and went on to Weymouth about a fortnight later (Suffolk Court Files no. 815, per Davis, The Ancestry of Joseph Neal, pp. 128-129).
Her husband’s will (1668) left her his whole estate for life and asked their sons to be helpful to her, “as she is ancient and weak of body” (Deane, History of Scituate, p. 287).
Open questions
- Her death. Davis gives it as 24 Apr 1677, but he gives the same date for the probate of her husband’s will, so one of the two may be a slip (Davis pp. 128-129).

- DisprovenThomas married Experience Leland, then Jane Kingman
He married Jane Powyes at St John's, Glastonbury, on 12 Sept 1616. She sailed with him and the children in 1635, aged 34, and is named in his will of 1668. Joanna, said to be a Kingman, was the wife of his son Thomas of Braintree; Lord (1942) gives Experience Leland to another Thomas Holbrook.

Not ancestral. Thomas the immigrant's only known wife was Jane Powyes, married at Glastonbury in 1616, who came over with him and the children in 1635. Lord (1942) gives Experience Leland as the wife of another Thomas Holbrook, born about 1627; Mollie seems to have merged three Thomases.
