Richard C. Fairchild
Farmer at La Grange, Walworth County, Wisconsin, and a county supervisor in 1855; by 1850 his daughter Elizabeth, her husband Stephen Frost and their baby were living in his house. Probably a son of Jonathan Fairchild, he married Nancy Woodworth in 1829, sold his Wisconsin farm in 1865 and went to Iowa, and died at Marion, Linn County, in 1882.

Married Nancy Woodworth in July 1829. Gilmore’s proof of the marriage is an indenture of 1 April 1846, in which Richard and Nancy, “of town of Windham,” are named with “other heirs of Lemuel Woodworth” selling his land in Hunter (source). He was in the town of Hunter in 1830 and 1840 and bought his brother Edward’s Greene County land in 1840. At La Grange, Wisconsin, by 1850, with his daughter Elizabeth, her husband Stephen Frost and their baby in the house; a county supervisor in 1855 and, per a FamilySearch note, a lay Methodist preacher; sold his farm in 1865 and went to Iowa; died at Marion, Linn County, in 1882, and was buried at Oak Shade Cemetery.
