Notes

Of the North Precinct of Norton, the part that later became Mansfield (Lothrop). Children (Norton VR p. 157): Seth, June 26, 1716; Mary, Dec 5, 1720; Benjamin, 1722; Dameras, 1724/5.

His first marriage, to Susanna Hall, is recorded at Taunton on 10 July 1711. Lothrop gives her birth as 1 Nov 1696, which would make her fourteen at the wedding, and says they had no children. The 1715 date of his second marriage comes only from Lothrop; the Deane memoir (1849) confirms that Damaris, daughter of Benjamin Deane, “m. Matthew White.” He died before 29 Apr 1731, when his widow married Benjamin Tree (Norton VR p. 336).
