Malachi Ellis
Son of Matthias and Mercy Ellis, born at Sandwich in Plymouth Colony in 1689, and brother of Capt. Joel Ellis of Middleborough. He married Jane Blackwell in 1714/15 and was a head of family at Sandwich in 1730. In 1748 he was his father's executor with his mother and heir to the homestead, on condition that he provide for her.

Brother of Capt. Joel Ellis. His father’s executor with his mother, and heir to the homestead (1748): “the housing, lands and meadows,” the tools and “all my arms & ammunition,” on condition of providing for his mother: her “Cloathing, firewood … and all necessaries & Conveniences of life for her comfort & Support Both in Sickness or health.” Administration was committed “unto Mercy Ellis & Mallack Ellis Executors” on 4 Oct 1748, and about 1750 his brother Joel acknowledged receiving from him £20 old tenor and half their father’s wearing apparel, “also his Cutlash his Belt.” On the 1730 Sandwich list of heads of families.
