Notes
Sister of Mary (Pattullo) Short, and the eldest daughter, named Jane, like her mother and as both her grandmothers, Jean Watson and Jean Clark, were called. She grew up at Caledon and moved with the family to Blenheim Township, Oxford County, in 1855. On New Year’s Day 1862 she married George Rennie at the Willis Church in Blenheim; the register names her father, Halket Pattullo (record). Her sister Isabella married John Laidlaw that Christmas. Find a Grave lists her among Halkett’s children as “Jane, 1839-1896” (source). Her brother Thomas’s will of 1876 left her an equal share of the residue with the other brothers and sisters (source).
