Mary Capron
Wife of Capt. Samuel Tyler of Attleborough, whom she married in 1717, and probably the mother of Ebenezer Tyler (b. 1740), who married Hannah Read. Probably a daughter of Banfield Capron; she died in 1780 in her 84th year.

From her age at death ("in her 84th y."). Mollie Pfeiffer's birth at Rehoboth in 1684 is her sister Elizabeth's.

The justice's return. Mollie Pfeiffer's 19 Dec 1719 is wrong; their first children were born Jan 1718/19 and May 1720.

Notes
Wife of Capt. Samuel Tyler of Attleborough. Holden lists her as the eighth of Banfield Capron’s twelve children, without saying which of his wives was her mother.
Her mother was probably Banfield’s first wife (inference). In 1817 a grandson, Abiel Brown, said Banfield “lived with his first wife fifty-two years after they were married” (Holden, pp. 7-10); Daggett and Savage give the death of his wife Elizabeth as 10 Mar 1735; and his recorded children were born from 1684 to 1709. Mary, born about 1696, falls within that marriage. Who the first wife was is still open (see below and her father’s page).
Open questions
- Who was her mother? Banfield Capron’s wives are given as a daughter of Callender (the 1817 family account, no first name), Elizabeth Callender (Mollie Pfeiffer and modern trees), and Elizabeth Blackington (Holden, as his second wife). Which of them was living about 1696 is not known. Abiel Brown’s “fifty-two years” with the first wife points to one long first marriage ending in 1735, which would make the first wife her mother, whatever her name.
- Read Banfield Capron’s will (Bristol Probate 13:258-261).
Mollie's typescript
Mollie's Capron chart gives her birth at Rehoboth in 1684 (her sister Elizabeth's birth), her marriage to Samuel Tyler on 19 Dec 1719 (the records give 1717), and eleven children.

Checked against the records
- DisprovenCapt. Samuel Tyler married Mary Capron on 19 Dec 1719
They married on 19 Dec 1717, by the justice's return. Their first children were born in Jan 1718/19 and May 1720, which fits 1717.

Both dates are wrong. The 1684 birth (22 Oct) is her sister Elizabeth's; Mary died 26 Jan 1780 "in her 84th y.", so was born about 1696. The justice's return dates her marriage to Samuel Tyler 19 Dec 1717, and their first children were born in Jan 1718/19 and May 1720.
Read it in the book, p. 143 → - PossibleBanfield married Elizabeth, a daughter of the Callender family of Rehoboth
Family tradition. The 1817 account says only "one of Callender's daughters", with no first name; "Elizabeth Callender" on Mollie's chart rests on weak modern trees, and Holden names a wife Elizabeth Blackington. A John Callender was at Rehoboth in 1689. Which wife was Mary Capron's mother is unknown.
