Notes

Hammatt lists him among the sons of Marshal Robert Lord: “James, born January 27, 1676” (Hammatt p. 209). His wife Mary died 11 Apr 1724, and eleven months later, on 27 Mar 1725, he filed an intention to marry Susannah Waite (Ipswich VR).

Mollie made him the husband of Mary Fuller and Lucy’s father. That was his son James Jr.

What Mollie wrote about him in The Holbrook and Low Families, and her claims about him checked against the records.

  1. Mollie says he was the fourth son of the marshal Robert Lord, born 27 Jan 1676, and makes him the husband of Mary Fuller and father of Lucy Lord; the records give that marriage to his son James.

James Lord ( 3) was the fourth son of Robert (2) born Jan. 27, 1676. He married Mary Fuller

Checked against the records

  • Disproven
James Lord, born 1676, married Mary Fuller and was Lucy's father

There were two James Lords. James Sr. (b. 27 Jan 1676/7, d. 1734) was the marshal's son; his son James Jr. (b. 12 Apr 1707) married Mary Fuller on 5 Jan 1731/2, and their children baptized at Ipswich were Mary, James, Ebenezer and Lucy. Mary Fuller was probably Nathaniel Fuller's daughter, as Mollie's Fuller chart has it.
