John Fairchild
Probably a son of Jonathan Fairchild of East Jewett, Greene County, New York, and so a brother of Richard C. Fairchild. He went to Conewango, Cattaraugus County, in the 1830s and to Wisconsin about 1851-52, and died at Heart Prairie in 1867. Adeline, probably his daughter by his first wife Catherine Clawson, was the mother of Lucy Bell, who married her second cousin George W. Frost, Richard's grandson.

Family
- Father
- Jonathan Fairchild
The East Kill Valley Genealogy says outright "John Fairchild was the son of Jonathan"; Plume (via Gilmore) and Beach's list of Jonathan's children agree, and the 1810 census, Henry's administration of Jonathan's estate and the brothers' deeds fit. No record seen names Jonathan as his father.

Notes
Son of Jonathan Fairchild of East Jewett, and so Richard C. Fairchild’s brother: his daughter Adeline and Richard’s daughter Elizabeth were first cousins, and their children Lucy Bell and George W. Frost second cousins who married. He married (1) Catherine Clawson, who died in 1831; (2) her sister Sally Ann Clawson; and (3) Tryphena Pomeroy, who stayed in New York and went to Utah in 1859. With his brother Edward he left Greene County for Conewango, Cattaraugus County, in the 1830s; in 1844 the two were trustees of the Union Cemetery Society of Elm Creek. He sold land with Tryphena on 3 Nov 1851 and went to Wisconsin about 1851-52 without her, and died at Heart Prairie in 1867 (source).
