Notes
Sister of Jane (Robson) Pattullo, thirteen years older. She and her husband, Andrew Buckham, share a marble stone at the Mayfield United Cemetery, Brampton, in Chinguacousy Township, the next township south of Caledon (source): “In memory of Andrew Buckham, native of R[oxburgh?]shire, Scotland, who died April 22, 1861, Æ. 61 yrs 1 mo & 8 dys. Also Margaret Robson, wife of the above, born Aug. 22, 1796, died Feb. 11, 1879, a native of Eckford, Roxburghshire, Scotland.”
Her stone is the record that ties this Robson family to Eckford parish, where her sister Jane was born in 1809. Her daughter Jane Buckham, Mrs. Fead (1827-1873), bore the name of Margaret’s mother, Jean or Jane Clark, as the Scottish custom named an eldest daughter for her mother’s mother.
