Notes

Son of Thomas and Mary (Greenaway) Millett. Born in England. Probably the “Thomas Millet” fined with his brother-in-law Thomas Riggs over the Andros tax in 1688; his father had died in 1675/6 (inference).

Mollie's typescript· 1 claim checked

What Mollie wrote about him in The Holbrook and Low Families, checked against the records.

  • Proven
Riggs and his father-in-law Thomas Millett were fined for defying Andros

True of Riggs: in 1688 he was among the Gloucester men "fined at the Superior Court in Salem" when the town would not assess one of Andros's "odious taxes", forty shillings each plus fees (Babson). But the Thomas Millet fined with him was his brother-in-law; his father-in-law had died in 1675/6.
