Notes
Wife of John Fuller of Ipswich. She came from Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, with her parents about 1638. Her brother Rev. Joseph Emerson of Mendon was an ancestor of Ralph Waldo Emerson, who was about a fifth cousin once removed of Harriet Low.
Her father’s will (1653) gave her “the best fetherbed & boulster … and the best couerlet & the bedsted,” and also “the great carued chest & the carued box with a little Trunck with all yt is in it and a small carued chest.” A codicil divides his gift to her between “hur tow daughters” Susana and Elizabeth (Probate Records of Essex County 2:35-37).
She was executrix of John Fuller’s will and attested his inventory on 25 Sept 1666. A second inventory was “taken the last day of December, 1672, being after the marriage of the wido Fullar to her seckond husband,” Thomas Perrin (2:59).

Checked against the records
- ProvenRalph Waldo Emerson descends from Thomas Emerson
Confirmed. Emerson descends from Thomas through Rev. Joseph Emerson of Mendon, a brother of Elizabeth (Emerson) Fuller (The Ipswich Emersons, 1900), so he and Harriet Low were about fifth cousins once removed. The others named here have not been checked.
