Abigail Wise
Wife of Adam Cogswell of Chebacco, whom she married at Ipswich in 1686. Probably a daughter of Joseph Wise and Mary Tompson, and so a sister of Rev. John Wise, the Chebacco pastor; probably the mother of Abigail (Cogswell) Varney.

Family
- Father
- Joseph Wise
That Adam Cogswell's wife was Joseph's daughter Abigail rests on WikiTree citing Anderson (TAG 56). Her brother being the Chebacco pastor, Rev. John Wise, makes it highly likely.

Notes
Wife of Adam Cogswell of Chebacco. Her line is not in Mollie’s typescript. Her brother John Wise had been minister at Chebacco for three years when she married there in 1686; he was ordained on 12 Aug 1683 at the house of William Cogswell, her future father-in-law (Jameson p. 10).
Three of her sons, Joseph, Benjamin and Stephen, died on one day, 5 Oct 1720; another son, Adam, had died in 1710 aged 19 (Ipswich VR 2:527-528). Her unmarried daughter Katharine died on 23 Oct 1729, about two months before her (Jameson p. 28).
