Ruth Snow

Also Ruth Cole

Wife of John Cole of Eastham, Massachusetts, whom she married in 1666, and mother of Joseph Cole, born there in 1677. The compilers make her a daughter of Nicholas Snow and Constance Hopkins, which would carry the family back to Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower; she is probably theirs. She died at Eastham in 1716/17.

Notes

Great-great-grandmother of Sarah (Cole) Holdershaw, and the step that carries the Ellingwoods back to the Mayflower. She married John Cole at Eastham on 12 Dec 1666, and their son Joseph was born there in 1677 (record). The compilers make her a daughter of Nicholas Snow and Constance Hopkins, Stephen Hopkins’s daughter; Bradford, writing about 1651, says of Constance that she “is also maried, and hath 12. children, all of them living” (source). She died on 27 Jan 1716/17.
