Notes

Half-sibling of Samuel Harlow (b. 1652/3), by his father’s second wife. In 1667 Nathaniel Morton and his wife took him, “being now neare two yeares and an half old,” to raise to 21, and Morton’s will (1685) remembered “my kinsman Nathaniel Harlow.” His mother, Mary Faunce, was Morton’s niece.

  • Proven
Nathaniel Morton's will names his kinsmen William and Nathaniel Harlow

Confirmed in substance (the will of 22 Apr 1685, as abstracted by Stratton, 1986). Morton and his wife had taken William's son Nathaniel in 1667, "being now neare two yeares and an half old", to raise to 21. The kinship came through Harlow's second wife, Mary Faunce, Morton's niece, so it says nothing of a shared English home.
