Mary McMillan
Mother of William McMillan and eight more children by Duncan McMillan, whom she probably married in Nova Scotia in 1839; she probably died at Calamus, Dodge County, Wisconsin, in 1872. Probably a daughter of William McMillan and Penuel MacDougall of Glen Urquhart, who came to Nova Scotia in 1818.

Family
- Father
- William McMillan
Of Glen Urquhart, to Nova Scotia in 1818, settled at South River, Antigonish (Blair, the source Dobson cites). The family names Penuel and Alpin, a Penuel McMillan buried at South Beaver Dam in 1870 aged 88, and a John McMillan of Calamus with children Penuel and Alpin all fit. His Scottish pauper's death in 1875 on FamilySearch is another man's.

Notes
Wife of Duncan McMillan, married in Nova Scotia in 1839; mother of Mary, William, Malcolm (wounded at Shiloh, died 1862), Daniel, Alexander, Alpin, Penuel, Euphemia and Sarah. She died at Calamus in September 1872. Probably a daughter of William McMillan and Penuel MacDougall of Glen Urquhart, who came to Nova Scotia in 1818 (source): she named a daughter Penuel and a son Alpin, and her mother seems to have followed her to Wisconsin.
