Notes
Ralph Ellinwood’s second wife, married at Salem on 14 March 1655, “Raulph Elmwood maryed to Ellen Lyn” (record); Ellen and Eleanor alternate all her life. Widowed at about 38 with seven children, she married William Bath, a Beverly fisherman, by June 1677, when the two were sued as “Wm. Bath and Elenor, his wife, relict of Ralph Ellenwood” (record). Last seen in June 1678, when she testified that Goody Hoar had offered her pease, in the case of the thefts from the Rev. John Hale’s house. In 1692 Hale told that story again against Dorcas Hoar at her witchcraft trial (record). The Ancestry tree gives her a birth in Wiltshire and a death in 1677, neither supported.
