Also Anne Winthrop

Second wife of Adam Winthrop of Groton Manor, Suffolk, whom she married in 1579/80, and probably the mother of Governor John Winthrop of Massachusetts Bay and of Anne (Winthrop) Fones, through whom the Frosts descend. Probably a daughter of Henry Browne, a clothier of Edwardstone, she died in 1629, six years after her husband.
