Stephen George Frost
Left home in his thirteenth year for Coxsackie and New York City, then moved west by stages: Wisconsin, where he was town clerk of Sugar Creek and chairman of its board in the 1850s; Iowa in 1866, a lumber dealer at Harlan by 1880; California in 1883; Washington in 1889. Father of George William Frost, with whom he lived at Spokane until his death in 1919, aged 92.

“Stephen left home in his thirteenth year, going to Coxsackie… went to Wisconsin, thence to Iowa in 1866, to California 1883, Washington 1889” (the Frost Genealogy, p. 191). In New York City for six or seven years from 1841; married Elizabeth Fairchild in 1849; in 1850 living with her parents at La Grange, Walworth County, with their baby George. Town clerk of Sugar Creek in 1854-55 and chairman of its board in 1858-59 (source); a city councilman at Monticello, Iowa, in 1868; a lumber dealer at Harlan, Iowa, in 1880; a voter at Cloverdale, California, in 1884 and 1888, where Elizabeth died in 1889. At Spokane in the 1890s he very probably owned the Spokane Marble Works, and in 1902 claimed his stolen chickens in court (source). He lived with his son George at Spokane and died there in 1919, aged 92.
Children: George William (1850), Irving W. (b. c. 1852) and Frances Ruth (b. c. 1857).
