Flynn Line
The line
The ancestry of Winifred I. Flynn (1901-2003), mother of Jerry Dwyer. Her father,
William Clifford Flynn, born at Fairfield, Nebraska, in 1872, was a mail carrier at St. Joseph,
Missouri. His father, James Murray Flynn, was born in 1846 in Emily Township in what is now Ontario,
a settlement of the Peter Robinson emigrants from County Cork, enlisted in the U.S. Army at 18 and
was later a justice at St. Joseph (the tree takes the Murrays to Cavan). Her mother, Anna Mary
Paulson (“Sylvia Pauline” in the tree), was born in Sweden in December 1871 and came to America in 1891;
where in Sweden, and who her parents Nils Paulson and Christine Anderson were, is an open case
(research/paulson/anna-paulson-swedish-origins.md): two Swedish families attached to her by
Ancestry hints, at Malmö and at Riseberga, are ruled out.
How sure it is
The Dwyer research file (research/dwyer/Dwyer_Master_Research.md) proves the links from Winifred to
William C. Flynn and Anna Mary Paulson, to James M. Flynn and Annie Owens (William’s marriage and
death records), to Nels Paulson and Christine Anderson (Anna’s marriage and death records), and to
John Flynn and Anne Murray (James’s baptism, 1847).
Everything here comes from the Ancestry tree (exported October 2026), compared and imported
in research/gedcom/report-dwyer-hatten.md. Facts with a record attached in the tree are
labelled with it; the rest are compiled, and beyond the great-great-grandparents possible.
Where the tree has merged a namesake’s records into an ancestor, they are left out and the
person’s page says so.
