Ann Raymond
Ann, wife of Thomas Fairchild of Norwalk, Connecticut, and later of Bedford, New York, was probably the eldest daughter named in the 1765 will of Ephraim Raymond of Bedford, and so a daughter of Ephraim and Mary (Coley) Raymond. Her children born at Norwalk included Sarah (1742) and Jonathan (1744), possibly the Jonathan Fairchild who settled East Jewett, Greene County, New York. Her birth, marriage and death are not known.

"My eldest daughter, Ann Fairchild," in his will of 6 Feb 1765. The will shows that Ephraim had a married daughter Ann Fairchild; that she was Thomas Fairchild's wife is inferred (see Thomas Fairchild).

Phoenix knew her only as "Ann ——, of whom nothing is known." Gilmore identifies her with the "eldest daughter, Ann Fairchild," of Ephraim Raymond's will, made in 1765 at Bedford, where Thomas was living by 1779; the will's "grandchild Sarah, 'that I brought up'" is probably Thomas and Ann's eldest daughter Sarah, born 1742.

Notes
Wife of Thomas Fairchild of Norwalk and Bedford, and mother of Jonathan Fairchild, born at Norwalk in 1744. She is known from her father’s will. Ephraim Raymond of Bedford, Westchester County, “being ill and not well in body,” directed on 6 February 1765 that “My son Ebenezer is to pay to my eldest daughter, Ann Fairchild, £20,” and left £10 to “my grandchild Sarah, ‘that I brought up’” (source). Thomas and Ann’s first child was Sarah, born at Norwalk on 14 November 1742, and Thomas was of Bedford by 1779; so Gilmore concluded that “Ann Raymond must be his wife” (source). Phoenix, writing in 1878, knew her only as “Ann ——, of whom nothing is known.”
Her children at Norwalk: Sarah (1742), Jonathan (1744), John (1747) and Mary (1748/9), and probably more. Gilmore’s “b. ca 1720 Norwalk” is an estimate and is left out.
The family’s descent from her rests on two links: that Thomas Fairchild’s wife Ann was Ephraim Raymond’s daughter (probable), and that Jonathan of East Jewett was her son Jonathan (possible).
