Wybra Hanson
Wife of William Pontus, whom she married at Leiden in 1610 with William Brewster as a witness. She came with him to Plymouth by 1633, when she was named a creditor of John Throop's estate; she had probably died by 1650. Her granddaughter Wybra Glass carried her unusual first name. Probably the mother of Mary (Pontus) Glass and of Hannah (Pontus) Churchill.

Notes
“Wybra Hanson, maid,” who married William Pontus at Leiden on 4 Dec 1610, William Brewster a witness (Leiden notes quoted in The Churchill Family in America, 1904). She came to Plymouth with him by 1633, and was living on 15 Dec 1633, when she was listed as a creditor of the estate of John Throop at Plymouth (Sibert, citing Anderson, The Great Migration Begins). Her husband’s will of 9 Sept 1650 names his daughters Mary and Hannah and his son-in-law James Glasse but no wife, so she had probably died by then (MD 11:92-93; the research’s inference). Her granddaughter Wybra Glass, born 1649 to Mary (Pontus) Glass, carried her unusual first name.
Mollie Pfeiffer thought her the one ancestor not from England, Scotland or Wales (typescript p. 187). Broadly so, but Philip Delano, born at Leiden of a Walloon family, is another, and the Genns came by way of Virginia.

Mollie's typescript
She married William Pontus at Leyden on 4 Dec 1610, with Brewster as a witness.
to Leyden where he married Wybra Hanson, Dec. 4 1610, with Brewster a witness to their marriage.
p. 66 →Summing up the family, Mollie singles her out as the one "Dutch woman" among ancestors otherwise all from England, Scotland or Wales.
While the stock is mixed, as stock from the British Isles must be, every individual, excepting one Dutch woman, Wybra Hanson came from England, Scotland or Wales.

Checked against the records
- PossibleWilliam Pontus married Wybra Hanson at Leiden, Brewster a witness
Probable. The Leiden record, as quoted in The Churchill Family in America (1904), has "William Pautes, fustian-worker, from near Dover" marrying "Wybra Hanson, maid" on 4 Dec 1610, William Brewster a witness. About 1664 the widow Hannah Churchill claimed half of Pontus's land (Plymouth Colony Records 4:58). That Wybra was Hannah's mother is likely but not shown.

Broadly so, but not quite. Philip Delano, an ancestor through the Churchills not in Mollie's book, was baptized in the Walloon church at Leiden in 1603. The one Scot found is John Kneeland, and the Genns came by way of Virginia and Maryland.
