Notes
Born at Dansville, New York, in 1827, a son of Walter and Sybil (Sawdy) Allee. He and his brother Daniel were at Momence, Kankakee County, Illinois, in 1862, and he served in the Union army. By the late 1860s he had a homestead on the Long Prairie River in Todd County, Minnesota, where the county history lists “Albert and Dan Allee” among the settlers; in 1876 he was one of the five men elected “to take charge of the estate and property of the Methodist Episcopal church at Long Prairie” (source). He died at his daughter’s at Selah, Washington, in February 1922, a member of the G.A.R.; a 1921 newspaper item, known only from a WikiTree transcription, has him making the trip from Park Rapids alone at about 94, in the day coach, since he thought a sleeper too dear.
