Mary Betts
Wife of John Raymond of Norwalk, Connecticut, whom she married in 1664, and probably the mother of Samuel Raymond, one of five children named in 1695. Probably a daughter of Thomas Betts of Norwalk; she died there in 1695, a year after her husband. The family's descent from her rests on Jonathan Fairchild of East Jewett being her great-great-grandson, which is possible only.

Notes
Wife of John Raymond of Norwalk, Connecticut, whom she married on 10 December 1664, and mother of Samuel Raymond. “He m., Dec. 10, 1664, Mary, dau. of Thomas Betts of Norwalk” (source). Her father-in-law Richard Raymond, removed to Saybrook, gave “all his lands in Norwalk ‘unto those children which my son John Raymond allready have or may have, by Mary Raymond his present wife,’” and in 1677 empowered his “well beloved brother Thomas Betts, of Norwalk,” to record his land divisions there (source).
Her husband died on Christmas Day 1694, and letters of administration went to her father Thomas Betts and her son John; she died at Norwalk in 1695 (source). Her children, as the inventory of January 1695 gives them: John, 31; Samuel, about 22; Thomas, about 19; Hannah, “17 next August”; and Daniel, “14 next August.”
The family’s descent from her rests on the identification of Jonathan Fairchild of East Jewett with Jonathan, born at Norwalk in 1744, which is only possible (see Jonathan Fairchild).
