Notes

Anna Mary Paulson (“Sylvia Pauline” in the Ancestry tree), mother of Winifred (Flynn) Dwyer, born in Sweden on 27 December 1871. Where in Sweden is not known (see research/paulson/anna-paulson-swedish-origins.md). The Ancestry tree places her birth at Landskrona, on the island of Ven (see the Blaeu map in the Gallery), with no record behind it: Ven stays possible. A Malmö family whose daughter Anna Matilda (b. 1874) was briefly taken for her is ruled out: that Anna married in Malmö in 1902. She came to America in 1891, married William Flynn in Otoe County, Nebraska, in 1896 as Anna M. Paulson, aged 24, born in Sweden, the daughter of Nils Paulson and Christina Anderson (record), raised their children at St. Joseph, Missouri, and died at Portland, Oregon, in 1942.

Her Oregon death record of 1942 names her parents Nels Paulson and Christine Anderson, both born in Sweden (record). In 1900 she had borne three children, all living; eleven in all.

In the records the tree attaches (not checked here):

  • 1891. Arrival (record) (record)
  • 1900. St Joseph Ward 4, Buchanan, Missouri; marital status: Married; relation: Wife (record)
  • 1910. St Joseph Ward 2, Buchanan, Missouri; marital status: Married; relation: Wife (record)
  • 1920. St Joseph Ward 2, Buchanan, Missouri; marital status: Married; relation: Wife (record)
  • 1930. Portland (Districts 271-553), Portland, Multnomah, Oregon; marital status: Married; relation: Wife (record)
  • 1935. Portland, Multnomah, Oregon (record)
  • 1940. E P 167, Portland, Multnomah, Oregon; marital status: Married; relation: Wife (record)

Other records the tree attaches: Washington, U.S., Marriage Records, 1854-2013.

The tree enters two of the children twice: Hubert L. as Herbert L. (both 1899-1998), and Marguerite as Marquerite Patricia (1906-1995), who became Sister Mary Losa; they have one page each here.
