On 4 Nov 1807 "Hope Ellingwood, widow, of Frankfort" sold her rights "in the real estate of which my father John H. Shaw late of Frankfort died seized ... 1/6 undivided between heirs of John H. Shaw" (Hancock Deeds 23:286). His parents are unknown; the Ancestry tree's Capt. John Shaw, born 1735 to John Shaw and Martha Knowles, very probably lived at Wilbraham and died in Ohio.

John Holdershaw married Sarah Cole at Eastham in 1760, and the widow in 1807 was Sarah; Gray identifies her as the Sarah born 1738 to Joseph and Sarah (Nickerson) Cole.
