Mollie calls him a clothier with large holdings at Cranbrook, Withersham and Lydd, and notes his widow Ellen's legacy of 1638 to the widow of Robert Cushman.
His brother Smallhope was a clothier; he and John had large holdings in Cranbrook, Withershal and Lydd and their wills are in Gleanings in England.
