The rings
The tree
How to read it
The blue dot is the centre. Each ring outward is a generation further back: parents, then grandparents, and so on out to the English parishes. In every pair, a person's father is the clockwise-first segment and their mother the next. Names face the centre, first name outside and surname inside. A segment's shade is how sure we are of the link to that ancestor.
Select anyone to open their profile. Seed moves them to the centre so the rings become their ancestors; Reset returns to the centre. The address keeps the seed, so a seeded view can be bookmarked or shared with family.
Where a ring is empty, the research hasn't reached that far yet. The largest gap is the right-hand half: the ancestry of Lucille McMillan, Frances's mother, which is still to be researched.
