Will of John Horsington of Corston, 1536
About it
The register copy of the will of “John Horssyngton of the parishe of Coston,” 1 Oct 1536, with the margin title “Test[amentum] John Horssyngton.” It names his wife Agnes, his sons Richard, Giles, Thomas and William, and his brother Walter, and leaves silver to “every one of myn owne children.” No daughter is named. Edith Holbrooke of Compton Dando called a William Horsington her “cousin and godson,” so she may have been born a Horsington, but this will can’t show it. Above it is the end of the will of Nicholas Prowse of Taunton.
