The parish church of St John the Baptist at Great Amwell, Hertfordshire, seen from across the New River in a photogravure by Peter Henry Emerson, published in London in 1888. Richard Warren married Elizabeth Walker in this parish on 14 April 1610, the earliest record of the Mayflower passenger himself. Her father, Augustine Walker, was a yeoman of Great Amwell and was buried there in 1614.
