A letter to Prof. O. C. Marsh from Crow Butte, 1875
About it
The first page of a letter to the Yale palaeontologist Othniel C. Marsh, written “eight miles East of Red Cloud agency” after a winter snowed in on the Niobrara with “my Brother and Shelly [?] and two hired men.” Posted on Ancestry as Henry Clay Clifford’s, and described there as the letter in which he reports finding a Brontotherium; the signature is on a later page.
