About it

A studio portrait of a young couple, she standing in a dark bustled dress with a row of buttons, he seated with a baby in white on his knee. The poster dates it to the early 1880s, in Minnesota, and leaves the baby unnamed; a commenter thought it Henry Valentine Dwyer (born 1889). They married about 1882, and their eldest known child, Mary, was born in February 1885.
