Son of Ralph Ellinwood and Ellen (Lynn); “coaster of Beverly”, married Mary; died 28 March 1731. The Beverly privateersmen of the Revolution were probably his and his brothers’ descendants. Recorded among Ralph and Ellen’s children in the Essex County register (record).

The Beverly town register of births names the children of “Benjamin Elingwood by Mary his Wife”: Eleanor (7 July 1688), Benjamin (27 Jan 1689/90), William (1 Nov 1691), Patience (19 June 1693), Mary (23 Apr 1695), Priscilla (3 Mar 1696/7), David (11 Dec 1698), Samuel (21 Nov 1700), Mary (9 Oct 1702), Robert (26 Nov 1704), Andrew (22 Oct 1706), Jonathan (1708) and Eunice [1711?] (record).
