Her death certificate gives her mother's maiden name as "Susan Maria [?] Adams", born New York. From the Ancestry tree before that. Susan was born at Saratoga Springs, where the memoir has Jennie born, and died at Evanston in 1926.

Wife of Dr. Finley Ellingwood. Her middle name is written "Libelia" in the memoir (the reading is not certain); family memory has it as "Sibelia", and the Ancestry tree, from the records, has her as "Jennie S." With Finley at Evanston in the 1900 and 1920 censuses (record, record). She organised the church women's association and was its first president. Widowed in 1920, she lived on at the Evanston house, supported by her four sons under their agreement of 20 June 1923, and later moved to Madison, Wisconsin, near Cudge.

The Cook County marriage index has her as "Sibelia J." Elliott, marrying Finley on 1 Sep 1880, and she died at home, 2209 Central Street, Evanston, on 23 Sep 1929; her death certificate gives her birth as 25 Oct 1857 at Saratoga Springs and her mother as Susan Maria [?] Adams (record). The certificate makes Evanston her home of 37 years, so any stay in Madison was not a lasting move. If the first is read right, she was Sibelia Jane, and "Jennie" came from Jane (Ellingwood line: the wives' families (Pattullo and Short, Adams and Deyoe, Rice and Sylvester)).
