What it says

Compiled genealogy, read in the archive.org full text. Its English pedigree of the Boremans is built from the Claydon parish registers and the Cropredy and Banbury wills (Peculiar Court): William of Banbury (Lay Subsidy 1525) > Thomas “the elder” of Claydon > William > Thomas (m. Elizabeth Carter, daughter of Felix and Margaret) > Thomas of Ipswich. Prints Thomas Boreman’s will of 1670 (p. 115) and an abstract of Deacon Thomas Low’s will of 1708 (p. 120).

Also quoted: “Thomas Borman, a very old man, being before us at Ipswich, declared upon his oath that he Judgeth the words (Thomas Borman) subscribed … to be his hand” (1671/2, p. 111); and a 1695 testimony that “Mr. Bordman’s servant Isaiah Wood lett ye oxen pull down ye cart of (off) the bank where the oxen were hanged by the neck, one of them till he was dead” (pp. 108-109).

Also used for the English generations and the Ipswich farm: Thomas “the elder”’s will (3 Apr 1576, proved 2 May 1580) and inventory of 4 Jan 1579/80, with “the bedstede I made myself” (p. 83); William’s will of 12 Dec 1610 and inventory (pp. 87-88); Annis’s children (p. 87); Thomas’s inventory of 8 Mar 1627/8 and his widow’s account of 12 Apr 1630 (pp. 93-94); Elizabeth (Carter) Boreman’s will of 27 Apr 1631 and her provision for her son Daniel, which with Thomas of Ipswich’s “my Brother Daniell” “clearly prove[s] that the emigrant Thomas was her son” (p. 94); Felix Carter’s Lay Subsidy entry of 1610, nuncupative will and inventory of 1619 (pp. 83, 131-132) and Margaret Carter’s nuncupative will of 14 Oct 1621 (p. 132); the cousin Samuel Boreman of Wethersfield (p. 101); Thomas of Ipswich’s house lot by “a House lott belonging to Mr. John Winthrop” and his 55-acre island by “the great creek called the Labour in vayne”; the death of Margaret Boreman, 25 Nov 1679 (p. 114); and Lidia Banks’s letter from London, 5 Sept 1672, “not forgetting old Mr. Bourman, Mr. Rogers and their wifes if alive.”
