Abigail Munn
Wife of Lt. Jonathan Chapin of Monson, Massachusetts, and probably the mother of Jotham Chapin, one of the first settlers of Winfield, New York. Born at Brimfield in 1739, probably a daughter of Benjamin Munn and Rebecca Russell, she descended through her father's mother from Deacon Samuel Chapin of Springfield. She bore seven children at Monson and died there in 1838, two weeks short of ninety-nine.

Notes
Wife of Lt. Jonathan Chapin of Monson and mother of Jotham Chapin. Her birth is in the Brimfield town records, among the children of Benjamin and Rebekah Mun: Benjamin (1732), Joseph (1734), Abner (1736), Abigail (14 Sept 1739), and later Jeremy (1754) (source). The Chapin Book lists the same family under her father and gives her husband: “Abigail m. 1-4-6-1-1 b. Sept. 14, 1739 … d. Aug. 30, 1838, age 99” (source).
Her father’s mother was Sarah Chapin, a daughter of Japhet Chapin and granddaughter of Deacon Samuel Chapin of Springfield, so through her the family descends from the Deacon whatever the truth about her husband’s grandfather. She bore seven children at Monson between 1764 and 1780, outlived her husband by nineteen years, and died there two weeks short of her ninety-ninth birthday (“age 99” in the book).
