Notes

Father of Benjamin Munn of Brimfield and Monson. He was the youngest son of Benjamin Munn, who “serv. in the war with the Pequots, 1637,” moved from Hartford to Springfield, married in 1649 Abigail, the widow of Francis Ball and daughter of Henry Burt, and died in November 1675, when Nathaniel was fourteen; his mother then married Lt. Thomas Stebbins (source). His elder brothers John and James fought at Turner’s Falls in 1676.

On 24 Mar 1689/90 he married Sarah, daughter of Japhet Chapin. The Chapin Book gives him as “Nathaniel Munn, son Benjamin & Abigail Burt (Ball) Munn, b. July 25, 1661, Springfield, d. Dec. 31, 1743,” and lists their children, among them Nathaniel, Sarah (1692-1716, wife of Samuel Taylor of Deerfield) and Benjamin (b. 12 Aug 1700) (source).
