note
Married 1845; born 28 Jun 1815 at Homer, N.Y.; stayed in New York when he went west, went to Utah in 1859 and died at Woodruff in 1901.

Son of Jonathan Fairchild of East Jewett, and so Richard C. Fairchild's brother: his daughter Adeline and Richard's daughter Elizabeth were first cousins, and their children Lucy Bell and George W. Frost second cousins who married. He married (1) Catherine Clawson, who died in 1831; (2) her sister Sally Ann Clawson; and (3) Tryphena Pomeroy, who stayed in New York and went to Utah in 1859. With his brother Edward he left Greene County for Conewango, Cattaraugus County, in the 1830s; in 1844 the two were trustees of the Union Cemetery Society of Elm Creek. He sold land with Tryphena on 3 Nov 1851 and went to Wisconsin about 1851-52 without her, and died at Heart Prairie in 1867 (source).

Research: Notable connections of Frances Fairchild Holbrook: the Fairchild branch and the families that married in.
